Cafe Istanbul

The restaurant has a varied menu. Food is nicely served and delicious in taste. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Unusually, the restaurant was quite empty when we visited so the atmosphere was slightly dull compared to its normal vibrant self. We have been eating at Cafe Istanbul for years and will return.

A delicious meal served by lovely staff. We arrived earlier than booked and they were more than accommodating taking us straight to a table. Cannot say more than that.

Very friendly service and excellent food, in generous portions. The staff were always attentive, the décor is quite exotic without looking like a tacky film set. I would thoroughly recommend a visit, whether you love Turkish food, or you just want to sample it for the first time.

Great food great service that's why this place is one of my favourite places in Manchester. The meat platter is exceptional and huge so make sure you're hungry if you order it!

Tonight there was no food available from the grill due to "fire regulations" which left a very limited menu and the main course took more than 45 minutes after the starter to arrive - disappointed tonight

First visit to Cafe Istanbul and it may be the last. Arrived at the allotted time but table wasn`t ready. Took an hour for starters to arrive during which time no effort was made by staff to see if we wanted another drink or to keep us informed about the reason for the delay. After two hours we still hadn`t had main courses. Continued lack of communication from staff didn`t help matters. Eventually we just paid for the food and drinks we`d had and then left. They did deduct the cost of one round of drinks from the bill but our Saturday night meal out with friends ended up something of a washout.

Warm and inviting restaurant. Staff friendly and attentive but not overbearing . Good choice on menu and all of us rated food as excellent. Although busy we did not feel rushed after we had eaten. No hesitation to book again

Nice quiet pleasant atmosphere,the staff was lovely and food was delicious. Would recommend to all of my friends. All in all a great experience,can't wait to go back

All the staff are very professional and friendly. The food was excellent. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and we shall certainly be going there again.

Excellent restaurant with great food and pleasant service. A contemporary atmosphere rather than one that you might expect for a Turkish restaurant which we like.

Every time we have visited Cafe Istanbul the staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is one of elegance and the food is always first class. We have never had a bad meal there.The starter mixed meza are as good as the best resuarants in Turkey .

Fantastic restaurant - great food, friendly helpful staff, and a great vibe in there with a cross-section of customers. Strongly recommend to anyone visiting Manchester in need of some quality Turkish food.

This has always been one of my favourite restaurants. But not been for ages. Absolutely lovely food and service. Had the£25 ottoman meal... Great value but no room for dessert. It was packed up for us to take home. Thank you. Will be back soon. Never been disappointed at Cafe Istanbul

As always quality and range of food excellent, staff attentive but not overbearing, not as full as usual but the atmosphere was good, would certainly recommend for a pleasurable dining experience.

One of our favourite restaurants. The food is always excellent and the chilli sauce is the perfect accompaniment to either fish or meat. We don't know how they get the rice so light and fluffy but they always do and it's so tasty. We like to go early evening when the early bird menu is exceptional value for money. It tends to be quiet at that time so service is always quick and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We will be back again that's for certain.

Excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. Hummus to start followed by a mixed grill to share. We also indulged in a cocktail as a treat. Will be back.

we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on 9th nov at cafe istanbul and the service was excellent, food was delicious cannot wait to book again.

We had the early evening special meal after a tour round Coronation Street - the staff were welcoming and freindly and the food was tasty and well presented - we'd go back again.

Amazing food and great service would definetly go for food there again we enjoyed trying all the different starters on the platter would highly recommend this restaurant

It was a lovely evening. Helpful bar and restaurant staff. The food was good, the waitress gave advice to my friend who was visiting from the USA.

An excellent restaurant. The menu was good without being over-elaborate, and the food was of the highest quality and not over the top with regard to to price. Excellent service, deliciious food with excellent portions as always. Staff very attentive when required, however, left you to enjoy the food and atmoshpere. Would recommend if you want to enjoy and relaxing evening without being rushed because the table is needed for the next booking.

Simple but effective. Plenty of choice on the menu. Excellent service. First time here but would definitely visit again. Price on a par with other city centre restaurants.

Polite, friendly, prompt service. Reasonable price for good food. Fish just a little overcooked for my taste and vegetables undercooked to the point of raw. Not unpleasant though!

Lovely food and the early evening set menu is very good value. Service was a bit patchy - one waiter was excellent, another was too busy trying to upsell us with more drinks and extras to listen properly, and made us feel a bit uncomfortable for asking to adapt the starter platter to suit a serious nut allergy. Overall good, but not amazing.

Cafe Istanbul is consistently good, with great food, attentive service and a buzz to the atmosphere. It is a good restaurant, not a cafe as the name implies to those people who do not know the venue. Well worth a visit.
