Caminata is the best restaurant in Balham, no question. The Italian cuisine is superb, the wine is delicious & the staff are the warmest & most friendly you’ll find. If you haven’t been yet you’re missing out.

Lovely restaurant. My favourite. Super friendly attentive staff. Great tasting food and good variety. Need to book as it’s very popular. Downside of that is you only get 1.5 hrs to eat your meal, so a bit rushed. Wine rather pricey, but most restaurants are to be fair.

Can’t fault this place. Keep returning again and again. It’s very consistent. The food is always top notch, service is attentive and the atmosphere is great. Even when full the noise level still enables you to have a conversation with your dining companions. Great selection of food and wine. It’s not big so make your reservation well in advance as it books up fast. My little neighbourhood gem.

We are from Edinburgh and visit Balham several times a year but ate here for the first time. Our small party was welcomed from the minute we arrived. Portion sizes are generous and all our food was piping hot when it came. All three of us loved what we chose. Pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. A special mention to Giuseppe for helping us choose our wine and for generally making our evening! Don't miss trying this lovely little restaurant if you get the chance.

We absolutely love Caminata - it’s our favourite local restaurant. The food is always excellent and you really feel welcome whenever you walk in. We had 4 adults and 2 babies with us and we couldn’t have been more comfortable, and the food was delicious!
