Carluccio's - Chester

Requested a quiet table for two for a birthday meal. Was sat next to two of the loudest women in creation despite the restaurant being three quarters empty. Service was very very slow and there was absolutely no happy birthday message at all. When we left the waitress didn't even thank us for our custom. Food was very nice but the treatment was not very good at all.

Poor service, food average, luke warm and pricey. I have had a much better experience than this before so really don’t know why it was so poor.

Service very slow. We were there for three hours. Wrong drink brought that wasn’t ordered. Needed to keep looking for staff to order etc

The plate the food sat on was cold. The food was undercooked, there was runny uncooked eggs in one slice of French toast and the other hadn’t been dipped enough so had plain bread inside. The tea was weak even after leaving it a while.

Table wasn’t ready on arrival. Food average. For the price we’ve had better.

Crushed potatoes too slushy.. Thought tomatoes would be warm or hot. Schnitzel too herby - Too much Basil on - not mentioned on the menu. Overall quite Disappointed - especially for price

Overall good service. Polite staff and very helpful. Just wasn't given correct cutlery when we was at our table. We had to grab a set from another table .overall very good only this minor problem.

The chicken millanaise was over cooked and we waited an hour between starter and main course. We have previously eaten at this restaurant on many occasions.

Lots sitting outside enjoying sun but we went inside where it was cool, Greeted by Reni who was our server & was very welcoming as usual. Food was lovely Penne Giardineira & Penne Arrabbiata, Tiramamiso - many thanks to chefs. Thank you to all.

We had a beautiful meal, sat in the window area and able to watch the day go by. Very pleasant staff who where there when needed them but did not 'hover' over you. It was mid afternoon so the restaurant was quiet but still very pleasant to sit and enjoy a lovely sirloin steak, salad and chips, delicious.

Staff were friendly and efficient and food was of good quality.

No eggs! Toilets not very clean. Service good. Standards seems to have dropped over the last 5 years. Will seek alternative eatery prior to races next year.

Admittedly it is the 2nd of January and everywhere is quiet after the rush of Christmas and New Year, but there were no tomatoes and no mushrooms available. This was a bit sad as they are the breakfast highlight at Carluccio's! Upon request, staff made up for this with extra courgettes and potatoes. I noticed, after we'd finished, that others did have tomatoes??? Sadly too late for us. Maybe next time, someone could go shopping before the first customers arrive. After all I had booked yesterday online so we were expected. Otherwise, everything else was good.

The focaccia, chicken sambuca and lasagne were all amazing and the prices are so reasonable. The music is just the right level and the staff are so friendly and efficient. 10 out of 10. PS: I am picky and I rarely give reviews that are this good.

Very few gluten free options and the dish I did have wasn't cooked properly and was taste less. On the positive side, they didn't charge me for my meal but I won't be rushing back.

Meal was good the service good but a lack of Gluten Free food was a problem as was not able to have a irish coffee to finish with.

Not as good as I thought it was going to be- meal disappointing.

We had a very lovely, leisurely lunch in a quiet part of the restaurant. The staff were great, nothing was too much. The food was as wonderful as always and we thoroughly enjoyed the Pistachio Profiterole.

Had a lovely lunch with friends food was delicious, also my husband is gluten free and there was lots on the menu which you could get gluten free. Would recommend this restaurant.

We both enjoyed the chicken parfait for our starters, the confit duck for our mains and the huge profiterole with pistachios for our dessert.

Our table reservation was for 4pm. The restaurant was not busy at this particular time. We had to beckon the server to come to our table to take our order, as we had been waiting for a while. Once our order was taken, we didn't have to wait long for our food choices - one Lasagne and two Chicken Milanese. The food was well presented and we all enjoyed our meals. The server was friendly and willing to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Thank you.
