Dear diners, please note that tables of two have a seating time of 90 minutes, and guests of three or more have a time of two hours. Thank you!
Indian food is loved all over the UK, and thanks to outstanding restaurants like Castle View Indian Cuisine, it’s particularly well-loved in Lincoln. The menu here is laced with quality that stems from the raw ingredients used, hence every taste is authentic and honest – your bog-standard takeaway Indian food this most certainly is not. You’ll find Castle View on Union Road, right in the centre of town and perfect for whatever your occasion might demand. A warm welcome awaits, reserve a table now.
Lincoln is a very historic town which means there’s plenty to do. There’s also plenty to eat, and if Indian is on your mind in that regard then Castle View Indian Cuisine should be at the very top of your list of restaurants to try. Once you’ve made your way to Union Road, there’s much to choose from in the way of tandoori specials, biryani, the traditional classics, impressive vegetarian options and, unusually for Indian restaurants in Lincoln, plenty of fresh seafood. The salmon mujadara is a particular favourite of ours, consisting of Bengali-style marinated salmon fillets, capsicum and green chilli.
After all of that, you’ve then got a selection of chef’s specials that are somewhat famous in central Lincoln. Try the duck curry cooked with coconut milk, the chicken or lamb achari (if you’re brave enough to take the heat), or the Gandhi special that’s packed with minced lamb, garlic and some fiery ginger. As you can see, Castle View Indian Cuisine offers a vast amount of choice and much, if not all of the menu can be adapted to whatever your dietary requirements might require. As we said, for the best Indian meal out in central Lincoln, there really is no need to look further than Castle View Indian Cuisine.
Great tasty food with a great menu choice, lovely friendly staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere to dine in, we were made to feel very welcome.
We had a fantastic night. Polite staff lovely atmosphere top food loved it best Indian I’ve ever had. Looking forward to go again. Highly recommend
Excellent food and friendly service. A varied menu with a reasonable price range. I would advise booking as we went on a Monday evening and it was full the whole time we were there.
Table of 4 booked, excellent service and food will go again when back in Lincoln. Best Indian I have tasted in a long time would recommend a visit if you like Indian food
Rare to find an Indian restaurant with so much charm. Situated under the walls of Lincoln castle and across the road from the Lawns, this restaurant is run by the happiest and friendly people you could possibly meet. From the cheerful welcome to the laugh filled goodbye, the Castle view makes you feel special. The Food! You could eat a different dish every day for a month and never be disappointed. Well spiced and piping hot. I suppose the test of quality is that it is packed full of customers at 7pm. The only negative is that the restaurant is on the first floor and makes it impossible for many disabled people.
A brilliant experience. Really tasty food with excellent depth of flavour, not just heat and colour. Superb ambiance, great building/location and pleasantly warm on a cold evening; too many restaurants skimp on heating. Wonderful, genuine people, who have time for folk and care about what they do. To be fair to Castle View I can only suggest give it a try, but in the back of my mind I really want to keep it one of those great little gems that not too many folk know about. Steve
Overall, a great meal at this restaurant. The table was a bit crammed in and that stopped me giving full marks. However, the food was excellent (had the Chicken Tikka garlic chilli) and the service was fantastic. First time I have been asked if I was enjoying the main, and that they would swap it if I wanted! Asked for bill and was offered complimentary shots which was a nice touch. Would certainly come back to this lovely Indian restaurant.
This is a lovely restaurant, quite small so you need to book. The staff are all very friendly and give excellent service. The food is fantastic, probably one of the top 3 Indian meals we have ever had so well worth a visit. I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys authentic Indian cuisine to try it. My only negative was that although the crockery was clean alot of it was badly chipped which for me is off putting.
Our first visit and already planning our next. Staff very attentive but not OTT. The food was extremely tasty with nan bread particularly delicious. Portions are generous but manageable. We were asked if we would like another 'sharing' plate as we didn't all order starters. We were initially surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday evening until we had our meal. Definately recommend booking.
It's a shame you don't go up to 10 out of 10 we have been here loads of times plus had take always to it's 100% food plus 100% staff and as for the owners you couldn't wish for any better they welcome you with open arms and are so friendly credit to them both for running such a good restraunt
