Capture the lively spirit of Buenos Aires at CAU. This, the Glasgow branch, is right in the heart of the city and anyone’s top spot if hungry for fine Argentinian steaks, high-stacked burgers or damn satisfying wraps. You’ll find this CAU on Ingram Street – equidistant between Glasgow Central, Queen Street and Argyle Street train stations – where the vibe is elegant and stylish whilst maintaining a definite sense of Argentinian fun. Choose a chef’s special cut of beef, a classic sirloin or rump or, of course, any of one of many delightful options from what is a surprisingly varied menu.
Food and service were excellent. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it.
As always, excellent service and delicious food. Consistently good. Although the menu changes from time to time, it’s always full of interesting stuff. Mind you, the rib eye takes some beating! The staff and cheery and friendly without being overly so.
Fabulous service and fabulous food as ever!!! A really excellent addition to Glasgow's foodie restaurants. Thank you!! Fast becoming a regular haunt for our family.
Lovely service and excellent roast dinner the beef melted in your mouth. Very friendly, quiet on a Sunday evening. Definetly will go again and recommend to all my friends and family.
Somehow the booking did not register on the site, maybe should have checked for a confirmation to print out and take with us. However the girl in charge made us very relaxed and told us not to panic that she would take care of things. True to her words she took care of us by getting one of the upstairs booths, service was excellent, relaxed staff made us relaxed. All four of us have different tastes, fish, chicken and steak, we were all well catered for. This should have been a 6, if it had not been for the booking hiccup, so maybe the score should be 5.75 %
Hi, we really loved this dining experience. we were there with two friends and it was a very busy Saturday night but the service was good and the steaks were all very tasty. We actually went to Buenos Aires the very next week and tried the steaks over there to compare them.......Argentina won but only just !!..... the steaks were bigger and slightly juicier but CAU can hold its head up high.......We will be back again very soon!
The time it took to be served each course was excessive despite it being a Saturday night. The waiting staff seemed a bit disorganised. We were served pancakes with ice cream on plates with a high rim and only a fork. The starter of croquettes contained only 3 which were rather small with a bit of lettuce garnish.I asked for a large glass of Prosecco and received it in a champagne flute. The music that was playing was fine but far far too loud and we had a struggle to hear each other speaking on a table for 4.If it had not been raining outside I think we would have left.I have been before and could not have found fault although it was midweek but we were all disappointed on this occasion and would definitely not book on a Saturday again.
We both ordered the rump steak. As our meal was slow arriving the manageress (unprompted) apologised and provided us with free drinks (a cocktail and beer) which was a very nice gesture. The waitress was very friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being very busy due to the City centre lights switch on. Our steaks were well cooked and very tasty. We would return to this restaurant.
Steak was excellent cooked just right and the service was very good. We had the crispy shrimp to start and I would recommend you try this too as the sauce they cone with is now my favourite sauce so will be back soon
Staff lovely perfect time from when to visit my table never felt rushed etc. Prices very competitive and the premises clean and fresh. Will definitely be back and will spread the word
