The Chai Naasto restaurant group is a family affair and labour of love, a business founded by three brothers who share a deep passion for the street snacks and spicy food of India. Inspired by their grandmother’s food, the brothers wanted to share the authentic delicacies and complex flavours of Indian cuisine with the world. And so Chai Naasto was born, now at three locations in Hammersmith and Harrow in London, as well as Beckenham in Kent. For a memorable dining experience with finger-licking tasty food, a visit to this restaurant on Hammersmith Grove in London is a must.
The menu at Chai Naasto is made up of a great selection of snacks and larger dishes that are perfect for sharing with family or friends. The traditional chaat street food is an absolute must and includes the likes of pani puri, spicy Keralan chicken wings, pilau biryani, Bombay chilli cheese nuggets, lamb samosas and fenugreek flatbread tacos with chana masala. The kebab gully menu is another highlight, featuring tandoor-cooked meat and fish dishes. We recommend the pan-fried scallops with spicy cauliflower puree and herb dressing, the 24-hour cooked lamb cutlets with aloo chokha potatoes, the smoked chicken tikka marinated in yoghurt, or the tandoori whole sea bass. Yet Chai Naasto is more than just Indian food, with this Hammersmith restaurant offering a wonderful drinks list of wines, beers, spirits and more. The signature house cocktails include favourites like the Himalayan Fizz, an elderflower and lychee prosecco apértif, or the Mumbai Mirch, a pomegranate and passionfruit gin number with mint and spicy mango. The speciality tea selection is another talking point with fresh blends, infusions and specials always available.
