About Chaplin's Steakhouse
Some of the best steak – nay, one of the best restaurants – in Swansea is down at The Mumbles, where chef Bianca Joce is cooking up a storm at Chaplin’s Steakhouse. Located across from Southend Gardens along Mumbles Road, Chaplin’s Steakhouse takes its decorative cues from The Tramp, its produce from local Wales suppliers, and its sense of hospitality from the heart. Don’t forget to check out the daily specials chalked up on the board, but otherwise be prepared for an a la carte dining experience to remember, from starters and gourmet, homemade 100% beef burgers, fish dishes like the Cajun baked salmon or Chaplin cod, and a huge list of steaks of every cut and style. Go for the mixed grill with rump steak, gammon steak, minted lamb cutlet and chicken breast if you’re indecisive. Book online today!

Food was excellent. my hubby had T bone steak this was mouth watering, I had rib eye steak both of these were cooked deliciously , the onion rings stack was melt in the mouth, it was a nice evening.
Intimate setting. Excellent service, waiter very professional and not pushy. The steak was excellent and cooked to perfection. The onion rings are a meal in themselves and the batter in them is delicious. The owner couldn't be more helpful to accommodate the customers. Highly recommend.
Booked this place for my bfs 45th bday and glad I did. The food was absolutely to die for!! Really tasty. Even the salad was fresh and crisp. My partner had the steak and I had salmon of which there was plenty of. If your partial to a pint, like myself I would recommend the 'gower power' a locally made aleasy and went down like water. The atmosphere, lightening, and music was perfect and being across from the sea front made the night even more special. Even the chef was lovely as she wished us a good night as we left. Would recommend for sure.
A party of 12 of us visited on Friday evening for my Birthday. It was very tasty and service was great, thank you Kay Davies
The staff were really attentive on the, I was contacted on the day of my reservation to see if it was a male or female birthday, and they said they'd put a few banners on the table for us, which was a lovely gesture. They called me on the day of the booking to reconfirm. There were a few things missing on the menu as it was a Monday, but they gave us plenty of other options to choose from. Very nice ambience and didn't feel rushed. :) They gave the birthday girl a glass of prosecco to celebrate and kept the cake a secret and delivered it just on time. Thank you!
Such a lovely experience, very personable - it actually felt like we were at lunch in someone's home. The owner (I believe she was) was very attentive without being overbearing. The food was very tasty and there was plenty of it. In addition, prior to our arrival at the hotel, I was telephoned to ask if we were celebrating something ( we were a large party) I said that it was my husbands birthday and they put birthday banners up for us which was an e tea touch. Will definitely dine there again.
Nice, tasty tapas with a glass of crisp dry white was 'just the ticket' for us at lunchtime. The chef kindly came to ask us which of the ordered dishes we liked best, but it was difficult to choose, so full marks for all of the selections made including the chorizo (fantastic), spicy chicken in garlic (delicious) paella (superb) breaded whitebait (loved it), salmon (fresh and tasty) ......I could go on, but I'll stop there! We chose the pavlova and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, and both were excellent. All in all a lovely lunchtime experience.
The restaurant was very quiet as it was international rugby day, so we had the full attention of the excellent waiter who was friendly and helpful. The food was obviously freshly prepared and well cooked. 2 members of the party had rare steak, which was just right. Overall very good service and tasty food - just be prepared for generous portions!
Very nice overall experience. Starters, baked salmon and steaks were great as was the red wine selection. Very pleasant waiter (with a pony tail) who looked after us. We came from London to visit our son at university and will definitely return on our next visit. Thanks for a great night.
Chaplin's Steakhouse is a great place! The staff are all lovely and the food is amazing! Would recommend this place to anyone! ! ! !
A small but beautifully presented restaurant conveniently placed at Southend within the pretty village of Mumbles. The menu is pretty comprehensive and the food is excellent of high quality well thought out and cooked to perfection! The staff are very pleasant and catering for an 8 year old no problem!
A really nice experience. Tender, American-style broiled rump steak, very tasty; very warm welcome and good service. A good choice on the menu and we will undoubtedly go back again. We went at lunch time, it would be nice to try it in the evening. I should think it would be quite romantic!
Amazing steaks - grilled to perfection. Lots of more unusual cuts of meat, and fantastic subject knowledge - really felt like this place knew its stuff. Puddings and wine also top notch. It came highly recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint!
Chaplins was an amazing restaurant....food was fantastic, service was great. However they did not have our booking that we booked through Quandoo. Even though we had a reservation confirmation email from Quandoo. Chaplins had not received our booking. Would definitely recommend the restaurant, but book direct.
I have been to this restraunt on 3 previous occasions and have always had a great meal , on this visit the steak house let itself down as myself and a friend had to send our stake back not once but 3 times ,my fiance ordered T bone pork and they only had pork chops. This was on a Monday and there was only 8 in the restaurant. Don't think I'll be going again sorry
We had a lovely evening at Chaplins steakhouse last Saturday evening! The staff were very friendly and attentive and our meal was fabulous - one of the best steaks that we've ever tasted! We'll definitely be back!
Good Food, Good Service, nice little place for meal. Black & white decor is nice and the hat and cane hanging up is a nice touch. Have been six or seven times now. I'd recommend.
Real nice atmosphere, had tapas bit disappoint not much taste and No bread, both of us had steak one cajuin Steak and one 16oz ribeye they were fantastic, and cost wasn't to bad either. All in all a really enjoyable evening. JC
Outstanding value, great food and excellent service provided us with a memorable experience. Highly recommended if you appreciate week cooked and presented food. The Onion Tower was something so different to the normal!
