Shame not to be able to enjoy a full range of coffees; food well cooked and presented with ample portions. Not well supported at the time we ate so felt a bit cold and basic.

Great steaks, but huge portions! The onion rings have to be seen to be believed! Sadly, no room for dessert for either of us, so can't comment on them

Excellent meal. Excellent experience. Intimate environment. Would thoroughly recommend. It was the nicest meal we have had in a very long time. Hope you all have a hearty appetite because the meals are quite substantial.

Previous experience had led to higher expectations. Service was fairly good but quality of food was not up to previous. Used to be our favourite once.

Well. First impressions were good, we could see a small but lovely looking room that was almost full. The whiff of toilet 'pine' freshner wafted through the pain in the ass door that quite obviously has a serious problem was not amusing. The waiter was forever having to close it after a customer. Get it fixed! After the hour wait it looked ok. My steak was over cooked, parts of my sons was still mooing! My dog was very grateful when we arrived home. Because the door into the kitchen was permanently open I could clearly see that the chef was run off her feet. The room was on the chilly side. I had high expectations after speaking with a couple of people that had dined before. I'm sorry, I shall not be returning.

Food and wine were very good. Only downside was no salmon available which was disappointing. Plenty of other choices and good portion sizes. Staff were very friendly.

My wife and I took my son out for an evening meal and we all had steaks. All the steaks were cooked to perfection. My son and I rounded off the meal with an ice cream dessert which were also well presented and tasted good. Great night out.

Disappointed that 7.15 on a Saturday evening they were out of both T bone steaks and our other choice King Prawn in their shells .

A small but beautifully presented restaurant conveniently placed at Southend within the pretty village of Mumbles. The menu is pretty comprehensive and the food is excellent of high quality well thought out and cooked to perfection! The staff are very pleasant and catering for an 8 year old no problem!

Food was disappointing; the ribs, the lamb and the steak were all quite fatty. Staff were friendly enough, but no atmosphere in the place. Probably won't visit again.

Great food and lovely staff can't beat it just wish the beef was cooked medium rare but that's a personal taste and know that lots of people wouldn't touch it if it was cooked like that

A really nice experience. Tender, American-style broiled rump steak, very tasty; very warm welcome and good service. A good choice on the menu and we will undoubtedly go back again. We went at lunch time, it would be nice to try it in the evening. I should think it would be quite romantic!

Very nice overall experience. Starters, baked salmon and steaks were great as was the red wine selection. Very pleasant waiter (with a pony tail) who looked after us. We came from London to visit our son at university and will definitely return on our next visit. Thanks for a great night.

Chaplins was an amazing restaurant....food was fantastic, service was great. However they did not have our booking that we booked through Quandoo. Even though we had a reservation confirmation email from Quandoo. Chaplins had not received our booking. Would definitely recommend the restaurant, but book direct.

Nice, tasty tapas with a glass of crisp dry white was 'just the ticket' for us at lunchtime. The chef kindly came to ask us which of the ordered dishes we liked best, but it was difficult to choose, so full marks for all of the selections made including the chorizo (fantastic), spicy chicken in garlic (delicious) paella (superb) breaded whitebait (loved it), salmon (fresh and tasty) ......I could go on, but I'll stop there! We chose the pavlova and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, and both were excellent. All in all a lovely lunchtime experience.

I have been to this restraunt on 3 previous occasions and have always had a great meal , on this visit the steak house let itself down as myself and a friend had to send our stake back not once but 3 times ,my fiance ordered T bone pork and they only had pork chops. This was on a Monday and there was only 8 in the restaurant. Don't think I'll be going again sorry

The restaurant was very quiet as it was international rugby day, so we had the full attention of the excellent waiter who was friendly and helpful. The food was obviously freshly prepared and well cooked. 2 members of the party had rare steak, which was just right. Overall very good service and tasty food - just be prepared for generous portions!

Went here last year and had such a fantastic meal so we decided to go again this year. How the food has changed, don't know if the chef/owners gave changed but wasn't value for money. The surf n turf was 4 little prawns on a steak for £26!!! The prawns last year were fresh king prawns won't be going there again!

Nice steak and good service. Would recommend and if we revisit the area plan to go back and eat there again. Book in advance as it isn't a big place so gets booked up quickly.
