Very disappointed based on previous visits Food was not at the usual standard we have seen eating at the chequers. Hard pressed to find a reason to book in again
Very much a locals pub, welcoming and good value for money. You get what you pay for so don't expect much from the good - basic pub grub. Service was very good too.
Service, food and ambience all great . Sunday lunch was an impromptu visit but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was . Very reasonable prices
The meal was nice but can not book online so would recommend to phone in. Food was lovely, nice cosy pub. I would return back.
Received a warm welcome from the staff on arrival, the food was very fresh being cooked to order, all in all a very pleasant evening. Will certainly pay a return visit.
A Varied Sunday menu. The shared platter is enormous and delicious and is extremely good value. Lovely starters and yummy desserts. Good service in pleasant surroundings.
excellent Sunday roast, the beef was beautifully pink, good service and comfortable surroundings - what more could you ask for - well it was also good value. Overall a first class dining experience.
We have dined at many restaurants in this area but yesterdays meal at The Chequers was superb. A total birthday treat - compliments to the Chef
The food was of its usual high standards but service was a little slow and the restaurant didnt seem to be that busy to warrant the time taken
Excellent food and good service! Have been a few times now and never been disappointed! Went on a Sunday at 5 pm and was fairly quiet! Lovely pub
The food was exceptional To say the portions were plentiful is an understatement but yet the cuisine leans more to gastro than pub grub. I would highly recommend you try the Chequers for something other than Sunday lunch which is mightily impressive Well run with polite but friendly staff. Go there you will not be disappointed!!
Excellent Friday meal out. Great food, great attentive service. Black pudding starter was to die for. Stone bass and burger mains were excellent. Can't fault anything. Thank you Cheques Inn!
Very nice choice , hot food served, service good without being too intrusive. Nice relaxed atmosphere , brought guests who really enjoyed the meal and would return
nice pub, very friendly service. We had to ask for water twice and we had to ask for bread, which normally they give without asking. the bread was stale
Vegetables arrived half way through meal, background music was funereal and staff unprofessional i.e. Delivering items to table in one hand holding cleaning spray and cloth in other.
Great location, service and food genuinely couldn't fault anything here. Would have like to stay for a drink in the lovely beer garden but after three courses we were just too full!!
Had the sharing platter dwhich was excellent value for money. Good service in pleasant surroundings. Booked table through quandoo which was easy to do with quick confirmation
Great as usual..... beef tender but less pink than normal....so slightly more well done than our preference. Did not significantly detract from a lovely lunch.
Visited for a 50th birthday treat. It was a Thursday night, so relatively quiet, but the food was absolutely excellent. Considering I only saw one person doing the hostess service, her attention to detail and politeness was remarkable given how difficult it must have been to serve that number of people single-handedly. Always consistently good food and service &would highly recommend
The staff have changed since the last time I was at the Chequers. The food was the usual high standard and reasonable prices. The staff could have been a little more personable... efficient yes but the family friendliness was lacking
Great food, pleasant location, very friendly staff but not overbearing. We are trying all the locations in the group, have not found a poor one yet.
Being able to book on-line the first benefit. Great welcome as previously. Nice ambience and warm. Food excellent once again Customer care and service excellent
Chequers Inn was excellent - the two of us had pre-booked and enjoyed a cosy and delicious dining experience with generous portions of excellently cooked sunday food (we didn't have a dessert). There was a mix of families and couples in when we went and everybody seemed able to dine happily. Service was attentive too. Thanks!
The food was lovely and the staff very amenable. We all enjoyed our evening., could not have eaten another thing, the plates were well set out.
Excellent food and service as always. A few of our party had the steak pie which is famous (not nearly famous) as the menu states as it is the best pie available. The Beer was also on top form. Cheers
Menu a bit limited. Short staffed. However the Food was good. No loo roll in toilets and despite asking twice it still hadn't been fixed when we left
As ever, there was a varied menu and the food is of a high standard. Service was also good. I use the Chequers regularly and it is always good value.
Good meal and service. The black pudding scotch eggs were rated as excellent and the steaks were very good. Our only complaint would be that one of our table asked for a ginger beer and was brought a ginger ale.
Excellent evening. The fish and the steak pie were delicious. Really lovely staff. Highly recommend a visit. We will certainly be eating there again soon
Very pleasant. Roaring log fire. Real ale & scrummy food. What's not to like about this place. Staff friendly. Plenty of parking available. Would definitely recommend.
Not value for money. Pie was full of fat and gristle . Not what it said on the menu. Felt very let down. Didn't complain due to being out with friends.
The meal was lovely , staff very pleasant Overall experience was great , will definatly return very soon and recommend chequers to family and friends
Service was very slow there was only four tables in use and the food was not upto usual standard the chips were over cooked unable to eat which we informed the staff.
The roast beef was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the Sunday menu. I will be visiting again to try the mid week menu. Service was polite and attentive.
We visited the Chequers on Sunday for lunch after reading excellent recommendations - it certainly was one of the best Sunday lunch meals we have ever had ..... the menu was versatile and the food divine .... so much so that on settling the bill - I booked for this Sunday coming too. The staff were so lovely - friendly and efficient - the service was fast. The venue is a super country village style inn which is welcoming and warm - please give this place a try - we will be frequenting for sure.
Very good meal, food piping hot, well cooked, plenty of everything. Good service. pleasant staff. Will recommend to our family and friends. We will definitely go again.
Lovely family meal this afternoon, the staff were friendly and the sharing platter Sunday roast was a hit with everyone!.. (Best roast I've had out in a long time) we will definitely be back again
The meal and service was very enjoyable, it was hot when it arrived and tasted delicious and the waitress were very attentive would recommend this restaurant Chequers at Bilton in Anisty to anyone.
Very good all enjoyed our food at lunchtime today. Five of us had F&C , gammon, steak ale pie, starters to share and two sweets.
Fab food great service . Will definitely go again and recommend to friends . Good selection for Sunday lunch . Belly pork and roast beef best we've eaten in a pub / Resterant .
