Curry houses proliferate up and down the length of the UK, and while the standard is routinely excellent, the menu can become a little bit samey after a few visits. Chilli & Lime on West Street in the centre of Havant have no such problems: they’re endlessly visitable, and the principle reasons for this are the decor, the service and the food. There are banquettes that provide the perfect location for an intimate evening, a suited and well turned out staff to wait on your every need and, most importantly, a menu of Bangladeshi and Indian classics that will tick every box on the list of classics, while also giving back to the seasoned punters that are looking for the most authentic tastes of India. We’d go for the Goan Xacuti, with coconut and lamb, Achari lamb in tamarind sauce or – if we were feeling truly adventurous – a Bengali delicacy of naga chicken, with the iconic naga chilli.
