Located in the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh’s city centre, close to Haymarket, China Town is renowned throughout town for serving one-of-a-kind Chinese specialities in an opulent environment. Featuring an affordable three-course lunch offering, a pre-theatre dining option and an incredibly long a la carte menu, there are a seemingly endless number of choices at this popular local Asian restaurant. A warm welcome always guaranteed. Absolutely fantastic as usual. Great food and great service. Lovely atmosphere and consistently brilliant. Would recommend highly. All at reasonable prices.
Absolutely first class food and service - We had a set dinner for 7 which was one of, if not the best, Chinese Meals I've ever had.
Having eaten at Chinatown many times before, I headed back and again was not let down. The staff and service were excellent, and the layout of restaurant was great. The food was delicious. Well worth the money.
When looking for a tasty and delicious Chinese meal in Edinburgh’s city centre, West End or Haymarket areas, it doesn’t get much more authentic than at China Town on Atholl Place. The premises are gorgeous, including a full bar, finely upholstered seating, luxurious curtains and white tablecloths – the perfect space for an unforgettable date night. Planning to catch a show? The pre-theatre dining menu is extensive and affordable, featuring three substantial courses including a starter, main and a number of delicious desserts. Spaces are limited, though, so make sure to book in advance.
The menu at Edinburgh’s China Town is especially long for a Chinese restaurant, but we’re not complaining! Begin with an appetiser like the mussels with garlic and chilli, the torpedo king prawns or the spiced and salted chicken wings, then head straight for the special Cantonese dishes like stuffed aubergine with mashed prawn and pork in a black bean sauce, the crab meat with straw mushrooms or the fried fish balls with seasonal chinese vegetables. And there’s so much more to choose from – think curries, vegetarian specialities, roasted pork dishes and many more. There’s even a European section on the menu, so feel free to bring along even your pickiest friends or family to this city centre restaurant.
