Not to be confused with the famous condiment brand, but definitely best with a dollop of mustard or mayo, Coleman’s Pizzeria & Steakhouse is a breakthrough for restaurant-starved Bawtry. This family-run affair up on the High Street builds on the success of the proprietors John and Sarah Coleman’s Thyme (now in the capable hands of John’s sister), and is all about fantastic Italian pizza and mouthwatering steaks, washed down with draught Moretti beer and more. The incredible aged 32oz ribeye steaks are bringing diners in from all around Doncaster!

A little mix up with the order but when the food came it was fantastic
Neck, chuck, brisket, flank, sirloin, fillet, round, rump, silverside, topside, shank and ribs. John Coleman knows his way around his cuts of beef, and it’s his charcoal-fired grill that gets the juices flowing for Bawtry’s carnivores. As a restaurateur, John and his wife Sarah are both veterans in the area, and their new High Street venture, Coleman’s Pizzeria & Steakhouse, operates according to a two-pronged culinary attack that’s bound to attract a lot of loyal custom. Not only does Coleman’s do some of the best steaks in the Doncaster region, all aged for a minimum 30 days and served with ale-battered onion rings, homemade chips, portobello mushrooms and slow-roasted tomato, but it does a lean, mean line in burgers and, of course, pizza.
Seeing as we’re on a meaty roll here, it’s good to mention that Coleman’s Pizzeria & Steakhouse has a bold meat lovers pizza on offer, topped with chorizo, pepperoni, Cajun chicken, pancetta, fillet steak, red onion, fresh chilli, and garlic oil. Heading to the other end of the dietetic spectrum, you can always get a classic margherita or a couple of delicious vegetarian options topped with grilled halloumi and roasted red onions and peppers or goat’s cheese with red onion marmalade. With plenty of great beer, wine, spirits and dishes to start you off at this Bawtry gem, Coleman’s is set to become a destination for locals and foodies in the Doncaster region alike.
