I came here for my birthday, and couldn’t have had a more wonderful time! The food was incredible and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. They even brought me a birthday smoothie, which was a lovely touch. Asamnew is one of the nicest people i’ve ever met and made the whole process so easy. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Good atmosphere food was different but very nice with plenty of time to chose and eat
I cannot rate the restaurant highly enough. The most amazing food and owner. You are made to feel really welcome. The owner is passionate and knowledgeable about his food and this creates an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend a visit
A brilliant place with an extremely friendly owner! Definitely will return!
Gorgeous food - loved everything about Corarima... the best place to eat in Wakefield!!
A totally pleasure filled evening. The atmosphere, decor, food and people were all delightful and it was a very different experience to any other restaurant, in a very good way. Would absolutely recommend.
Having read reviews of Corarima, we went with high expectations - and we weren't disappointed. The food was new to us, it was tasty and varied - and also very healthy. The owner was an excellent host who clearly loves sharing his passion for their Abyssinian food and his small family restaurant. Make sure to book, as it gets very busy - even at normally slack periods.
Excellent food and fantastic service as always. We will be back very soon.
Amazing food and as someone who is gluten intolerant it was fantastic to be able to eat everything from the menu. Highly recommended.
It was like being invited to family for dinner. Loved everything will be back x
Some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. I will definitely go again.
This restaurant is superb. The flavours were amazing. The host as very friendly. We loved every dish we tried and would recommend to anyone
A different dining experience which is well worth trying even if you are not used to vegetarian food.
Excellent in every respect. Superb food and service with the personal touch.
Beautiful food, excellent service, great atmosphere, all in in all a wonderful night out!
Always a warm welcome and fabulous food again. Thank you
An absolutely fantastic evening, warm and friendly staff. Excellent food with a story behind it. Will definitely be back for a further visit.
We received a very warm welcome into a restaurant tastefully decorated with traditional African baskets and other objets d'art. Tables are well spaced, and seating comfortable, being new-comers to Abyssinian cuisine we found the menu fascinating and difficult to choose from so decided on a combination dish for 4, we were advised to order side dishes, which we were happy to do given the lovely selection. BYOB is in operation which kept half of the party happy, a good selection of soft drinks satisfied the rest, the Telba is amazing!! Our "side dishes" arrived first, obviously intended as starters, but beetroot salad does not make a good starter, much better as an accompaniment to a main meal. 2 large platters arrived, divided into small heaps of colorful dishes of lentils, split peas, and other spice infused vegetables, (think Indian Thali). This was all very tasty, we relaxed feeling well attended and unrushed, as the restaurant filled the noise levels rose, the room is long and narrow, and could really use more soft furnishing and other devices to dampen the acoustics, my daughter got quite upset at the volume. In my opinion the cost of dishes is somewhat high for vegetarian food, made up mostly of staples like beans, peas, lentils, rice and breads, no mention of organic produce, we didn't stay for coffee, I would have liked to know what constitutes an Abyssinian coffee at £6? All in all a lovely birthday experience, with a few minor niggles, that can easily be resolved, time will tell if the Wakefield is ready yet for these prices.
A great experience trying food we had never tasted before. It was unusual but enjoyable! We would definitely recommend and come again.
Very tasty and very healthy food. An enjoyable and informative experience.
Excellent service first class food and a great ambience certainly recommend
Had the most wonderful evening and highly recommend this restaurant. Had the warmest welcome and the food is incredible. This is now my favourite restaurant in wakefield.
This was our first time here after deciding to try it on the strength of reviews we had read. We were not disappointed. Having never experienced this cuisine before we opted for the sharing platter for two. It was all delicious and the starter of beetroot salad was particularly good. Service from the owner was exceptional and he explained what everything was to us. We will definitely be back.
This is one of those really special experiences. The owner has such passion for his food, and tells you lots of interesting things about it, that it increases your appreciation. We had a sharing platter and got to try lots of small dishes and it was perfect. Left the restaurant feeling full but not heavy - this food is gluten free, veggie and packed with flavour.
Great place to eat and would recommend it to anyone but especially vegans and vegetarians
We experienced Excellent new foods with stunning great service, good conversation, reasonably priced. A hidden gem of Wakefield.
Another wonderful evening and meal. Amazing flavour combinations in varied and beautifully presented dishes. The warmest of welcomes and attentive, informative service. This is food at its best which also happens to be vegan and gluten free. If you haven’t discovered this gem, I highly recommend you visit soon.
Wonderful food, beautifully presented by warm and welcoming hosts who made us feel like guests in their own home. A very special experience.
Great food in a very clean and comfortable setting. The welcome and service was excellent. Definitely one to try. We had a lovely evening and will return.
It's so nice to have such a specialist establishment in somewhere outside London, that has charm, character & a cracking menu! Repeat custom guaranteed!
So helpful and friendly. Beautiful meal in chilled surroundings. These people are so proud of their culture and get so much pleasure sharing it
Lovely and uplifting. Healthy feeling. Charming owners. Hard to fault.
Love the personal touch, made to feel really welcome. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy Abyssinian cuisine in Wakefield

Really good fresh spices food, first experience but won’t be last
Food different and very good. Would go again. Service excellent.
Had a lovely meal here with a large group of friends, very personal and attentive service, lovely atmosphere and tasty, interesting food. Will return!
We were made so welcome. We were not familiar with the menu choices so decided on the sharing taster platters. We all loved the food. New and exciting flavours. Our host could not have been nicer. He even gave us all a hug as we left. I will definitely be back. Officially my favourite restaurant now!
This is our third visit, each time has been consistently wonderful food, relaxing, atmosphere, very clean. Excellent hosts. Perfect, thanks Asamnew and your lovely wife 🙏
