The meal was simple but delicious. I was also very impressed by the fact that Cote offered to serve my disables partner's soup in a cup as he has great difficulty in consuming food from ordinary cutlery.
The restaurant service whilst not terrible still needs work. There are not enough servers and waiting 20 mins for a first course at lunch is not acceptable plus I had to ask for the bill twice and wait between getting the bill and paying as the staff were stopping on the way to bring the card machine over to take orders etc rather than focus on one task at a time,
The staff were very helpful and the food was very good value for money and very tasty. The menu had a good selection of meals for various food types. We have visited this restaurant previously and have always enjoyed the experience
Another great experience at Cote. We had the three course dinner and we were served at a nice pace with enough time to enjoy all the courses without rushing
As always, consistent in quality of food and friendly, fast attentive service. Second time at Barbican Côte and we are not disappointed. Great dining experience.
Great choice for our lunch for 6 we all very much enjoyed our varied choices. Time and service excellent. Will come again pre theatre. Thanks all round!
We like the Cote chain - and had previously been to the Hampstead branch many times. The food is consistently good and this was true of the Barbican branch, too. The service at the Barbican was very good on Sunday - efficient, friendly without being fussy. Good value. 4 of us had 2 courses and 2 bottles of the 'house' white for £120 including service. Set us up nicely for the concert we were attending at the Barbican Centre.
Good food, quick service which was just what we wanted . We found it a bit noisy but other than that it was absolutely fine.
Booked in for a pre-theatre dinner at 5:30pm. It got very full but the service was calm, efficient and prompt. We were looked after brilliantly by Maria. Pre-theatre portions are smaller, naturally, but good value.
Well presented restaurant and staff - the sirloin I ordered cooked medium was dry and tough, there wasn't enough sauce to bring the sirloin back from being that dry. After dinner we were asked if we'd like dessert, when we both ordered a creme brulee, we were told there aren't any left. I couldn't believe this as it wasn't overly late and it's a French restaurant - running our of Creme Brulee's is like a Sushi Bar running our of rice... it just shouldn't happen. So we could only ask for the bill and leave for dessert elsewhere. I guess I was just disappointed really.
As usual our visit to Cote Barbican was totally enjoyable. I am sorry they have withdrawn the Crab Mayonnaise and the Smoked Salmon from the starter menu.
Very good service and lovely food. My husband particularly enjoyed his Linguine. Very mush geared for pre theatre occasion which was just what we wanted.
Good quality food. We were in a hurry for the theatre matinee so skipped desert. Good fixed pre theatre deal. Would go back . Worth a visit
A busy evening and they bought the wrong dish for one friend and no cutlery for the other - but apart from that not bad.
Cote is consistently good. The staff are always friendly. The pre-theatre menu is such good value. House rose is really good. We all enjoyed our meal (though the frisee in my salad starter was a little bitter) - my moules were splendid
Pre-theatre menu was much enjoyed, but the desert choice was very disappointing and much the same that my wife and I have been offered by Cote for the last six months
Everything you come to expect of a Cote Restaurant. Excellent food plus excellent service. I was there with girlfriends but the waiter recognise me and said that l was last there with my husband and son.
Food was good, waitress was well knowledge about the menu and wines. Lunch menu was good value and service prompt as we only had 1 hour.
Table was next to the coffee machine, when used, impossible to have conversation. One waiter issued orders, volubly, to waitresses further along the service bar.
As always first class food and service at Barbican. The monthly menu was excellent and as always I recommend to friends. Took a friend who is a chef and lives in Spain....... she was pleasantly surprised at the value for money.
Excellent service. Very good meal. Perfect for pre theatre. Sensible wine. Very pleasant experience. All good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good \, good.
Food always a good standard & restaurant was busy & buzzy at lunchtime. Staff were happy to allow we non-workers the time for a more leisurely lunch!
Service not as slick as other Cote experiences - disappointing as advised we'd a theatre performance to attend - incorrect bill & forgotten order. Food fine.
Food good, service was very slow and lacking in atmospher as restaurant. Price of fixed menus is a winner for a chain. Crumble a highlight
A lovely brunch, we had the breakfast menu at midday, a wide variety of choice to suit most tastes. As always friendly, welcoming atmosphere and smart, efficient service.
This restaurant is so convenient for attending the Barbican Centre. It is light and airy with friendly staff and an excellent menu and wine list. They do a lunch/pre-theatre menu which is very good value for money and has a good selection. Our meal was delicious along with the recommended bottle of Viognier.
Great meal again at Cote Barbican branch. Lovely natural light in the restaurant during the summer evenings. I was too late for the lunch/ pre-theatre menu, which is great value for money.
Nothing wrong with the food other than the olives never did arrive and frites for the steak did not arrive until we asked where were they. Cotes are a good chain offering value for money but their thin steaks can be overcooked and can be a bit risky ordering!
I had a very enjoyable lunch. The menu very varied and delicious - very good value. My favourite 'chain ' restaurant at the moment 😊
Outstanding in every respect. The service could not be faulted, friendly, helpful and discreet. The menus are well thought out, well prepared and offering something for everyone. Highly recommended.
Cote is a consistent restaurant and can be depended on for good value and service. I very much enjoyed my two courses today, apple and Roquefort salad followed by very tasty haddock with pea purée.
Easy to book a table, charming staff, excellent food - menu has a wealth of different types of food and you can also have the pre-theatre menu which is excellent value for money. I have now been there with friends and family at least 6 times and I will continue to go...an excellent restaurant to eat in the heart of the City.
The food was very good but within 20 minutes of arrival (17.30 Hrs.) you were all so busy (good for you and a good sign) it was not so easy to obtain the service we wanted in time for us to feel comfortable about not being late for the theatre. We will come again of course.
A nice restaurant with good food and service. If you like French cuisine give the Cote chain a try. Easy to find and close to the Barbican Centre. Is in the same building as cinemas 2/3.
Slow service, took 40 min between starter and main while we were the first table at the weekday lunch service. No empathy from the waitress.
I was very disappointed to see that the crab mayonnaise starter dish had been taken off the menu- please tell me you will bring it back??
Had a very nice brunch here (served until 1pm) before a visit to an exhibition of the Barbican - very convenient. Nice staff, good food, no complaints!
Friendly service, very good quality food, good atmosphere, We would certainly come back and also would recommend this restaurant for a good meal. Prices are very reasonable.
Great location, friendly and unhurried service, the food and wine were absolutely delicious. We had the pre-theatre menu which was great value. Would definitely recommend this place to others, I will be back.
Good reliable quality-well prepared and interesting tuna carpaccio, well cooked escalope with an unusual side of pickled cucumber. And the frozen berries and hot white chocolate is good.
Had a lovely mail here presetter services slick and friendly the set menu satisfied every in our party and excellent value for money says Telboy
Pleasant atmosphere but got a little noisy as the place filled up. The food we had was excellent. Staff were courteous and attentive without being in-you-face.
Booking dead easy, good food, varied menu, good staff, ideally located next to Barbican Theatre. We will be back if we are in that part of london.
Very swift service at this branch (as ever) - a very tasty meal - perfectly cooked (as ever) and helpful pleasant staff (as ever). Happy to recommend,
Excellent service - and waitress so good. We had crepes for my partner and fish parmentier for me, followed by creme brulee - utterly delicious. John Hewitt
Friendly and efficient staff, who chased up our order which was a bit slow (we had a theatre to go to) and were clam and helpful. Delicious food, nice atmosphere.
The food was excellent as was the service. And the Barbican branch is one where music does not blast out of every corner. It is also roomy and air conditioned.
We had a very good 3 course meal, service was excellent and the best linguine we had experienced for a long time. We certainly shall return.
Good food , good quality/price relation, but staff, while polite, appeared to me somehow tired , it was indeed late , that's the problem with post theater dinners...
Cote is always an excellent restaurant to meet someone, whether for business or pleasure, it will always please. The service was exemplary, the food very tasty and, despite the restaurant being busy, it was easy to hear my companion. We both went for the fixed price menu - it was definitely good value.
