Côte Cardiff Bay

Super birthday lunch with family at Cote Cardiff Bay. We ate main course and desserts. Fish stew, Rib eye steak, half chicken x 2, veal and beef bourgunion were all well cooked, presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Thank you!

Fantastic food and great service. Would definitely go back again. In terms of the booking itself though, the restaurant had no record of our booking, so something went wrong somewhere along the line?? Thankfully they found us a table, but it would have been highly annoying if there wasn't a table.

As always excellent guy in charge. Been there a long time but knows excellent customer service. Super waiter. Had served us before. Could not fault him. An ideal place to enjoy a good meal pre-theatre. The service was good and the staff and kitchen are obviously used to getting people in and out in time. Delicious food

Excellent service Excellent meal. Only negative.... the waiter unsure of ingredients of dishes as one of the group has nut allergy but did check with kitchen. Useful on menus if the indicate if there nuts or other allergens

We are regular visitors here....for the last 6+. Never had a bad dish, ever! Service can be a bit frustrating on some visits, waiting for bill etc (but staff are always friendly & helpfull) - which is annoying or this place would be faultless. Visited other locations too...all good. We'll continue to be regular visitors.

Exceptional experience. Catered for every occasion, nothing was too much trouble as we had children in our party. Will definitely recommend and will definitely return to restaurant

The service was pretty good, tables fine, glassware and cutlery sparkling but the chicken my friend had was awful. I know the smel,l and dryness when cooked, of meat and fish as I was a caterer for many years before retiring. The chicken had been in the freezer for too long! The waiter gave her another chicken to replace the bad one, and the second was exactly the same. It looked unappetizing so she left it and went out hungry. Cote in Richmond is fabulous so I expected the same of Cardiff. The restaurant was pretty empty so know I know why and I won't be going there again!

This is a nice restaurant with good staff. There were four of us in our party, All four of us enjoyed our starters but the main meal, two of us had the rib eye steak. The steaks were not very good at all, too much fat and could hardly cut our steaks at all due to the fat. In fact it was very difficult to cut a decent size piece of steak to put on your fork. I know rib eye steaks have more fat this should be marbling which adds to the flavour. This was not the case on this occasion. Steak could not be cut at all and you certainly couldn't chew it. We did not make a complaint at the time as this would have spoiled it for the rest of our party, by the time our steaks would have been taken away and replaced the rest of the party would have finished their meal. We have eaten at this restaurant and had no problems previously. I would suggest that they check out the quality of their steaks from their suppliers in future. I did not pay the gratuity added to the bill as the percentage charged is too high and was not satisfied with the meals.

The meal was fantastic everything I wanted but my only criticism is the fact that 15% is added to the meal for a tip. I do think this is excessive especially when on a budget and 10% would be more realistic. However this can be deducted from the bill.

we went with my boyfriend to Cote Cardiff City Center many times and wanted to try to one in Bay for once. We haven't been desapointed at all! And I will say it was even better than in the center. We had the 10 years anniversary, 3 courses and a complimentary glass of champagne for £27,50. I am a vegetarian but it wasn't a problem at all to accomodate my requests on the menu. The service was also very good, and professionel. We had one of a best dinner ever so far. We will go again down to Cardiff Bay!

The service and food was excellent and everybody had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The only point I would mention is there was no bread available for me to dip in the mussel sauce as it was being baked.

Fabulous meal and service. The set menu is excellent value for money and the wines good and reasonably priced. The meal was enjoyed by a mixed group with ages ranging from 21 to 82.

staff very good, air con unit was a tad draughty, food generally good but cheeseboard was a big let down, too small in size for price, spoilt meal in that respect.

Perfect to have pre theatre meal, but excellent food choices and service highly recommend a visit , we had their anniversary menu which was such good value too

Good food and nice early bird special that provided ample choice and tasty options. Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Service was high quality and managed to have a very enjoyable meal with friends.

We enjoyed an excellent breakfast of crispy bacon, delicious sausage and perfectly cooked eggs - lovely staff and a great location. What more could you ask for!

Very draughty due to main inner door not shutting properly when people left outer one open or people held the door open for ages waiting to let people in or out- door needs seeing to

The small round table made the whole meal feel as if it was on top of us and we had no space to even poor wine without one of us holding something to enable the other to pour. We also missed the French Onion Soup from the menu which is a firm favourite.

Excellent service, my favourite restaurant in Cardiff bay. Love the food, great choice of gluten and dairy free food. Plus the birthday girl was delighted with complimentary drink.

Usual high standard of food and service , we had the two course pre theatre menu and the mains of plaice and sea bass were top restaurant quality

Whilst visiting Cardiff Bay, my sisters & I visited Cardiff Bay. There are many restaurants there to choose from but Cotes stood out for us. We had a lovely meal in a great atmosphere. Charming waiter too!

Great food. Great service for pre-theatre meal. Would return to eat there again. Cannot find any negatives except it was very noisy. Excellent overall experience.

A little bit rushed due to a very large party about to arrive but nice tasty food at a reasonable price looking forward to going back again

Enjoyed dinner and breakfast here. The service was welcoming and friendly. The food was really good with daily 'deals' available. Prices are reasonable and service is included at the end of the bill with the gratuity going directly to staff. Always consistent.

Great welcome and excellent service. The menu and the quality of the food are both very good. Have eaten dinner and breakfast here on a number of occasions when visiting Cardiff and the experience has always been consistent.

Extensive range of food options - great for our group. Service efficient and pleasant - we were able to be accommodated before our booked time as our plans changed which was greatly appreciated. Atmosphere was good. All meals were enjoyed although for the tuna nicoise salad the tuna steak was delicious but not much salad. Added to a lovely afternoon in the Bay.

A lovely restaurant with lovely staff. Somewhere to go and enjoy, not to rush in and out of. Ideal for food before a show at the Millennium centre as the meals aren't heavy or over-sized, so you won't feel lethargic afterwards.

Had a nice meal, as usual, but did feel a little rushed as our main meal arrived before we had finished our starter. This said we were hungry so in a way it suited us fine and we will definitely be returning
