Côte Edinburgh

We had two meals at the restaurant in Edinburgh recently. Different bookings. One was dinner for four on Friday 12th April which was excellent and enjoyed by all. The second meal was Sunday breakfast, different party, for six. Again really well enjoyed by everyone. Service in both cases was excellent. The service charge of 12.5% is added automatically which was earned in both cases, however I genuinely feel that service charges should be left to the dining party to determine. However , overall I was certainly pleased with my two visits.

First visit to the Edinburgh branch of Cote but having always been happy with my local Cote in Glasgow I chose to remain loyal to my favourite lunch destination and was not disappointed.First class in every way especially the staff .Than you .

Nice brasserie atmosphere , pleasant and efficient staff , menu is an excellent variety to suit all pallets and importantly the food is well cooked from scratch and has lovely flavours lastly it was good value , I’ll be back again !!

A family reunion dinner here. Food and wine excellent value. .The service was great andt they really knew how to make our evening extra special !

Lovely place! All fine till the dessert menus arrived then staff disappeared and no one came for our order. We therefore decided not to have anything more.

Food was lovely, but the environment was awful. So dimly lit we couldn't see, such loud music we couldn’t hear, we did mention it to our waiter, couldn't hear each other, so not a great night for a family meal out ☹️ Dissapointed

Impressed by consistent quality of Cote - delivers its vision extremely well - good quality wholesome food, good value, delightful staff and variety for repeat customers. No pretensions just is what it is and very good at it.

My friend and I had a lovely late lunch here. The staff and food were very good. We had an enjoyable time.

Gluten free menu was so yummy - spoilt for choice! Food was very tasty and service was great. Nice atmosphere in restaurant too. Will be back!

I booked the private dining room at Cote, Frederick Street, Edinburgh for a group of 10 so that we could celebrate our dear friend's BIG birthday. We had a wonderful time: great food, lovely wines, and impeccable service. The Cote team did everything to make the lunch go smoothly and I warmly recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free group lunch experience.

I’m afraid it wasn’t good at all but understand circumstances dire as probably last night before closing because of Covid-19. First choice of chicken was with mushroom option was unavailable so ordered steak rapide - it was inedible. waiter was apologetic and it seemed fairly obvious that he thought so. I hastily ordered the fish goujons but they arrived after my daughter had finished hers so it wasn’t enjoyable. I would have thought there would have been some kind of an offer for a discount but sadly none. We paid and left. Do realise that it was a very difficult night for everyone though. Good luck to Cote as we love it usually - our local is in Cambridge.

Lovely ambiance and great food. Dark chocolate pot is heavenly! Great to see the restaurant is still busy despite the uncertainty.

We were surprised at how busy the restaurant was in the current climate but had our usual excellent service and food.

Good table, good atmosphere and good food. Pleasant staff and efficient into the bargain.

After several visits over time happy to find the standard hasn’t slipped in the least.

The lack of soft furnishings make it noisy, so not great for people with hearing issues. The haddock was a bit dry. However, the food and service were otherwise faultless and we really enjoyed it.

The restaurant is lovely. The staff are so courteous and pleasant. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. The set menu is a great price ! So too is the House Red and it’s a lovely, light wine. This is such a great wee restaurant and next time I am in Edinburgh I will definitely be eating here. Thank you so much for a lovely experience.

A good location round the corner from one of the best shopping areas in Edinburgh. Met the Cote manager from Harrogate! Always consistently good food and service at dinner.. The best breakfast in town as well. About time you re-opened in Lincoln.

As always!! superb food and service at a very reasonable price. One of my "go to" restaurants in Edinburgh.

Superb as usual. The St Germaine cocktail was wonderfully refreshing and started our meal off well. The risotto vert was piping hot and full of green vegetables. The roast duck with cherry was juicy and tender and the best duck I've ever had. Creme brûlée and cope noire finished off our meal nicely. All was washed down with a bottle of merlot. With quality ingredients, value for money and dishes like these to chose from, why go anywhere else?

Always a lovely meal , great service and value for money

For the second time this week my steak was served rare and not medium rare. The first occasion the entire steak was replaced which was a nice touch and I wasn't charged. The second time whilst I said just cook a bit more it came back was such black grill marks it wasn't pleasant to eat. I didn't say anything because that would have meant another delay and my friend had almost finished her dinner when I got mine back. Chef either needs to be taught how to cook steaks or ask someone else to cook them. This is a waste of time and money for Cote. The calamari was lukewarm despite being served in the small frying pan that was cold, what's the point of that? My dessert was lovely. The bearnaise sauce was minimal with too much tarragon. Not your best performance.
