Côte Restaurant Exeter

Very good service and great ambience in the Exeter Cote Brasserie, overlooking the Cathedral. Lovely views across the close, especially if you have a table upstairs. We had the 10 year celebration dinner. The duck was cooked to a perfect pink, and a generous portion. The Grand Marnier Crepes were delicious. Would recommend the 10 year anniversary menu while it lasts. Very good quality food options and good value for money.

Had the 10 year anniversary 3 course meal, the meal was lovely. The service was very good. Very good value for money. Favourite place in Exeter.

Really good, if I had a criticism it would be the reflected noise level, but that's being very, very, picky! Would certainly recommend to friends.

As always, good service, excellent food and real value for money in a wonderful venue. We have found that when we travel around the country, we can always rely on Cote to provide a consistent experience you can trust.

Great breakfast.excellent service .Suprised by the good value you get orange juice and hot drink of your choice included in the price .First time we had tried you for breakfast highly recommended.

We were greeted at the door and offered a table upstairs or down stairs.We were taken to a really nice table by the window upstairs.Excellent choice on menus.A really enjoyable meal with attentive and friendly service.

I have been to Cote Exeter many times and have always had top notch food, service and a wonderful time. Beautiful setting overlooking Exeter Cathedral. Atmosphere is always great whether on an evening at the weekend or a weekday lunch time. Highly recommend

Very good meal taken from the daily lunch menu, fairly good choice however we suggest you should beware of the cider as it is very dry

Another fabulous evening meal at Cote Exeter. This was my sons 22nd birthday and he was greeted with a celebratory glass of sparkling wine, a lovely touch. All the staff wished him happy birthday. The food was delicious and the service very efficient. A really good evening Rachel & family.

Chose Cotes because of the excellent gluten free menu. Meal was lovely and it was great not to feel deprived for once! Good selection of desserts.

Food was generally ok although the sautéed potatoes were served with too much salt applied. Unfortunately there were not enough waiting staff working to deal with the number of customers, so the service was slow. The 12.5% service charge applied automatically therefore seemed excessive.

Excellent food and great wine. The mussels were delicious and the duck was yummy. Tasty crepe. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to my next visit.

Potatoes were not included and the staff missed our drinks off the bill. We rectified that and were thanked. Location excellent overlooking Exeter cathedral on a sunny evening.

Lovely food as is always the way. Service was great the staff were lovely and very helpful. If possible try to get a table upstairs as the ambience is much better but it is a minor thing. We will be going back again I'm sure as my little one loves the place and the food.

Plenty of choice on the specials as usual. One of our party had a slight problem with her starter. It was dealt with promptly & efficiently so everyone was happy.

A nice location opposite the Cathedral. Staff were welcoming. Ate from the pre-theatre / early evening menu. As always, Cote offers great value in pleasant surroundings. Would not hesitate to use this restaurant again.

Love this restaurant! Fab food and friendly service EVERY time. Great menu. Highly recommend Pate and Belly Pork. We have NEVER had a bad meal here!

Very loud due to a retirement party. They had run out of 2 deserts and 1 main. The waiter forgot to bring my starter then cleared the table after starter taking my wine. We asked for the bill at end and it to 20 minutes as he forgot. The food it's self is very very nice.

Overall, it was a really good experience. The only downsides were that first, no chutney came with the duck liver pâté (which, when served with brioche toast and no garnish, becomes a little sickly) and second, when there were four staff members grouped by the entrance upon arrival and not one greeted us for two minutes, it felt like sloppy customer service. Other than that, I would highly recommend!

Lovely meal but very noisy atmosphere. Staff were excellent, friendly and attentive, even though they were extremely busy. Hopefully it will be quieter when we return which we most certainly will.

Staff friendly & welcoming. Food excellent as always. Love the charcuterie board. Husband has a problem chewing at the moment & the goats cheese & sea bass were good choices (except for some of the fennel) Look forward to the next time.

We dined at the Exeter restaurant. Pleasant staff and surroundings, well thought out menu, food well cooked and presented. The prices seem reasonable. The only drawback is the gratuity automatically added to the bill. I'm usually more than happy to leave one but I'd rather decide if I want to pay one and how much it should be, rather than be nudged into it by the restaurant.

I went for a birthday meal with friends and every single one of us thought the food was incredible! We chose from the early bird menu which was exceptional value, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the view of the cathedral out of the window was stunning. We'll definitely be back!

Another excellent meal and good bottle of wine - calamari followed by minute steak. Calamari lovely and tender with crisp coating, steak medium rare just as we like it

Good food and attentive staff. Cannot fault our visit. This was not our first visit and won't be our last. Definitely a place to recommend.

We enjoyed the food and the service was great. And when they knew we had limited time as we had booked a show, the staff did all they could to get us our pudding and the bill asap so we wouldn't be late. Thanks folks!

We were politely shown to our table in the quiet area requested. Orders were taken as soon as we were ready . We enjoyed a drink whilst waiting for our meal to arrive. The meal was delicious as always and everyone was very attentive to our needs. Well satisfied customers.

We had a lovely table upstairs. We decided to eat from the set lunchtime menu which had some great choices. Both went for the pate followed by the minute steak which was excellent. Dessert was Creme Caramel and Chocolate Mousse with a Latte. Again the food was scrumptious and the nicest latte I have had in a while. Overall, lovely food with excellent service. We will book again.

Always find the early evening set menu good value for money and delicious food with no cut back on portion size. Cote Brasserie provides good service overall.

Excellent food and fast, efficient service as always. Soupe de poissons with rouille very authentic, as was the steak frites and coupe noire. We'll definitely be back again soon.

Always nice in Cote Exeter and worth requesting a window table upstairs to get a good view of the Cathedral Green. Steak was a little medium relative to the medium rare request but still tasted great.

As always Cote delivered exactly what we wanted, a nice relaxing lunch, overlooking the cathedral. Food was great, we love the monthly specials and service also lovely and friendly.

Exeter Cote' have never let us down, always a great experience with friendly and well organised staff Food is excellent, highly recommend it, with great views overlooking the Cathedral, it's a perfect location for an evening dinner or a spot of lunch

Great atomosphere and great staff. Very busy but was served quickly and all food was a very good standard. My only issue is that we found every single thing to be over-seasoned. I know it is typical of French cooking to use a lot of salt, however I was personally very disappointed as the meal would've been perfect if it wasn't as heavily seasoned.

Good food, service and ambience. coffee not so good. Been here three times. Will be back too. Nice tyo find a place which does gluten free.

Thoroughly recommended - great attentive service! Try their Breton chicken signature dish with garlic butter!! Ask for an upstairs window table with superb views over the Cathedral green!!

Very efficient and rapid service from attentive staff, even when someone knocked something over elsewhere in the restaurant. Food was excellent. We will definitely dine again!

Nice meal, very good service. We visit Exeter a couple of times a year and always enjoy a night at Cote. A lovely position opposite the Catherdal.

Overall excellent value for high quality food and pleasant service. A more extensive veggie menu would be the only significant improvement I can think of.
