Côte Harpenden

This wa the second time we have eaten at cote and wasn’t disappointed . There is a great menu that is hard to choose from as we could happily have eaten all of it ! The service was very good too!

Had a great lunch celebrating a birthday - very good steaks and excellent service and atmosphere. We love Cote so love it that there is one in Harpenden now.

Good restaurant with lovely décor, tasty food and helpful service. A great place for family get togethers, night out with friends or an enjoyable meal for two.

Good friendly service and food mostly good although leeks vinaigrette rather fibrous! Waitress had difficulty dividing bill into one third and two thirds but helped by her calculator!

Excellent service and friendly staff. Fillet steak cooked exactly how I wanted it: rare but no blood on the plate. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere at time we were there 6-7.30pm

Nice place and nicely appointed, staff very pleasant. Food average, had to send the main course back as it was tough and tasteless but they gave me a refund. Doubt we will go again.

Lovely friendly service - no problem with a buggy and catering for a 7 month and 4 1/2 year old. Lovely brunch which was good value.

We always have a good experience at cote - the food is of a reliably high standard and the service is excellent. the creme caramel is sublime.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday, with really excellent food from the set menu and superb, attentive service in lovely surroundings. We'll be going back!

Amazing food and service. Only negative is that the steak was a bit fatty, however got money taken off the bill. Also quite pricy but for a special occasion I highly recommend!

Lovely setting and decor, breakfast is fab, good variety of dishes to choose from, only let down is they don’t serve baked beans with the full English???? However great value for money!

Food excellent as usual and staff also very good, the noise dampening panels help, but still very noisy. We prefer Welwyn and St Albans. Not sure what you can do.

Although quite expensive to eat here, the restaurant is stylish, chic and a very enjoyable place to spend an afternoon or evening. It is better value to eat from a set menu although even that is quite expensive. The food is remarkable and always delicious.

Met a friend to catch up and had a lovely 2 course lunch from the Specials Menu. Our server was very kind and helpful. Great atmosphere in the restaurant.

Enjoyed a nice leisurely brunch which went right through lunch too! Tried the veggie breakfast and it was very good. Service excellent - attentive but never intrusive.

Very good meal overall in a good atmosphere. Good range of dishes. The French Onion soup and the Creme Caramel were particularly good. Go try it!

It was super speedy service as it was a relatively quiet Monday evening. Steak frites was lovely and great value. They also had a good value two course dinner.

Our first visit to the Harpenden Cote. It was just as nice as the St Albans one. A very nice evening in a small and personable restaurant.

Coffee warm not hot. Service slow poached Eggs hard not runny but still very nice. Nice room and food good. So nice but not perfect.

First class service and great food at this brilliant little restaurant. It was a birthday lunch and they dressed the table and treated the birthday girl to an sweet surprise!

Great service with good quality food and plentiful portions. All you could want for a quick unplanned meal out on an early Saturday evening. Excellent.

My husband had the belly pork followed by the chocolate fondant and I had the Sea Bass followed by the Tart aux Pommes with vanilla ice cream. Everything was cooked perfectly, tasted delicious and was presented well. Service was very good, as usual.

Excellent. Good service. One of our party asked for a medium steak & it was more on the rare side. Taken away & re-served with no quibble & the bread taken off the final bill as a token of goodwill. Would recommend

Great decor, 40’s 50’s chic, friendly polite staff, excellent food & value for money. Would recommend a meal here. The menu is varied & interesting.

We chose different dishes from the Prestige Menu this time and were not disappointed. The food is always beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. We couldn’t eat another thing after our starter and main course making this eatery great value for money. I highly recommend it to spend either an intimate evening with a partner or a more public evening with a group of friends.

Not bad; but not amazing. Côte takes many influences from french cuisine, though leaving behind most of good bits; ditching continental chic in favour of a cluttered dining table and superfluous exchanges with the servers in the name of customer service. Value for money is acceptable - though I would expect higher quality food for the higher price.

Great food and service. Spent a lovely Saturday lunchtime at cote Harpenden. The tomatoes and goats cheese starter was delicious as was the French onion soup. Breton chicken was cooked to perfection

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The restaurant was very helpful when I changed our booking from 6 to 7. Food was good, although they only had 1 bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc that we ordered!?!?

Very good attentive waitress however was confused and could not differentiate Sirloin and Rib Eye steaks. Food served promptly and steak I had was cooked to perfection

Really pleasant staff, they are not too pushy and are well informed. The food is well cooked and the wait is average. Good for a cosy dinner of a group.

The restaurant served Very authentic and delicious French food. The service was friendly and efficient amd we certainly intend to go there again. Wine list was good also

Very nicely appointed, spacious and airy, tables not too close together. Food excellent if a little overpriced and service was good but a bit too quick for our liking. Overall a good experience and will definitely go again.

The food was delicious as always at Cote but the some of the staff seemed disinterested almost bordering on rude. We had lovely evening but won’t be rushing back. The restaurant itself is lovely, not too big and really nice decor.

The food was very good and nice wine. Service also good. Only negative is restaurant is rather noisy when it fills up making it difficult to hear conversation.

It was such a lovely welcome when we walked in and our friends had not been here before and they loved and will be going back we have been twice now and will defiantly be going back, the service, food and cleanliness of the restaurant is superb. Also I am gluten and dairy intolerant and Love the little flags you get so they do not mix the food up .

Excellent service and food was really tasty as usual! I had the duck leg as the lamb rump was unavailable which was disappointing but the duck was still a good choice

THE STAFF WERE EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY AND THE MEAL WAS EXCELLENT. THE AMBIENCE AND THE LAYOUT WAS VERY GOOD. WE WERE SERVED BUT NOT HASSLED. ALL VERY ENJOYABLE.

Another excellent Côte Brasserie. Food and service excellent. We took four friends to the restaurant, who have not been to Côte before, and I am happy to say they loved it.

Enjoyed a really good meal at the Cote in Harpenden - all the food was of a high quality and the service was great too. Only slight blemish was the addition of four drinks that were a Cote offer and meant to be free - took ages to sort it out at the end of the meal.

As always, excellent service, outstanding menu, plus a significant reduction in noise level. Coeliac and wheelchair customers very well catered for. Excellent value for money.

Nice food, slow getting vinegar, ketchup good cooling, also slow clearing had to ask for dessert menu, butter for cheese. Not busy, perhaps needed more staff

We asked if we could bring the time of our lunch forward and this was done without any problem, for which we were grateful. We brought two guests - one from the USA and one from the Czech Republic - and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The staff could not have been more pleasant. Many thanks.
