“The set lunch here is a bargain”
– Good Food GuideAh, Côte Brasserie. Where do we start with Côte Brasserie? Not too many restaurants are as distinguished, and certainly when it comes to French food in the UK, Côte is the best there is. As one of the biggest groups of restaurants in the UK it’s refreshing to take a seat at Côte Brasserie and not be hurried through your dining experience, as at other chains of a similar size. Here at this particular Cote on Northbrook Street in the very heart of Newbury you can expect to be welcomed with this level of service, as well as a menu made up of French classics as well as regional French specialities. Perfect.

Thinking about making a Côte Newbury booking?
The town centre of Newbury is indeed a charming place to wander through little streets and browse some interesting shops. It’s also a charming place to enjoy a fine French meal, any time of day, at Côte Brasserie on Northbrook Street. Not from St Nicolas Church and the Newbury Corn Exchange (which this Côte proudly supports), this French restaurant is a specialist when it comes to dining that’s relaxed, sophisticated and yet well-priced. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, of course, but none come close to Côte Brasserie as it delivers a typically French menu and atmosphere, inspired by brasseries of Paris.
In tune with the rest of Newbury, this Côte Brasserie is slightly more rustic in terms of decor than others up and down the UK yet still offers a contemporary French twist. Amongst a fine breakfast menu, a weekday lunch and an early evening menu, the a la carte is packed with fresh produce. Some highlights among many include the steak tartare, chicken liver parfait, and a creamy butternut squash risotto. For a larger plate, you’ll regret paying the bill having not tried the classic beef bourguignon or the rump of lamb. A fine French restaurant in the heart of Newbury, there’s nothing not to love about Côte Brasserie.
