this was our third visit and the experience was better than previous. Service was efficient and we enjoyed both courses. We did, however, have to request our complimentary drinks that were linked to our on-line booking. It makes you feel like you are begging for a freebie that has already been offered to you in a marketing email.

We always return to Cote Brasserie - can always rely on good quality food and excellent service. This particular Cote is relatively small inside to some, so one's preferred seating is not always available, but the friendly staff more than make up for that!

Lovely atmosphere in an old Bank building, very tasty food, slightly slow service but not a massive problem as we had plenty to talk about.

Greeted by very cheery staff, order taken swiftly, food delivered quickly. All very good. We made them aware that we were going to the theater so they were perhaps very efficient because of that.

Very pleasant staff - as usual. Impressed that my complimentary wine was mentioned straightaway - didn't have to ask/mention it myself. Rather quiet for a Saturday night - but I'd rather that than too rowdy! Main course was ok but not great (as I'd expect) - dessert was very good.

Really good choice of food and excellent service. We even had a special cocktail to celebrate the two retirements, it really made their night. The steaks we had were cooked to perfection. Thamks

Great Food lovely service. The french onion soup was the best I've ever had would highly recommend it. Roast Pork for main was also really tasty. The dessert I was a bit uncertain of peach crumble which I was informed my the waitress used to be apple but it was delicious. The staff were very attentive and quite chatty which made a pleasant change. Will definitely be eating here again.

A very good lunch with nice service. The mussels were a bit mixed in quality, some a bit chewey and others tender, the calamari were very good, as was the linguine and the belly pork.

Disappointed couldn't have vegetarian crepes without mushrooms due to pre-preperation of product. Meal otherwise excellent and enjoyed by all 3 of us. Relaxed atmosphere as usual.

Lovely team in the restaurant, but the chef can't make an omelette. It was a dried up greasy pancake of egg rolled up around a slice of ham. The bill was adjusted to reflect our disappointment. Starters were fine, especially the excellent chilled pea soup.

First time at Cote. The food was surprisingly good. My duck liver pate was excellent as was my wife's asparagus vinaigrette. My wife loved her grilled salmon and my roast belly pork was good although there was no crackling. Overall the Prestige Set Menu was excellent value for money.

This was our first visit to the Newcastle Cote and we found that it delivered the same high standard of service and food as we are used to in our home-town Cote. It was friendly and comfortable, and being right in the centre of town the location is ideal.

Compared to our last (& first) visit (when each course was too salty - we received a 50pd voucher from the restaurant manager as compensation, which we used for this occasion), the food was excellent - not too salty, tasty & nicely presented. The only one complaint was that we were surprised to be told that the sparkling rose we had ordered at the start, had to be put in a fridge to cool it down before the waiter could bring it to us! Why wasn't this already in a fridge? Surely all sparkling wine,, rose & white would be stored in a fridge before customers order any? The waiter did, however, bring us each a complimentary Kir Royale. Although having the sparkling rose to start with would have been preferred, then I would have switched to a red wine for my main course (the other 2 guests had ordered a bottle of white wine to share with the main course). So in the end I had the Kir Royale & the sparkling rose, rather than sparkling rose then red wine, which would have been my choice. Hopefully, if we were to choose to dine here again, the service of drinks would be better prepared. Otherwise this occasion was a better experience than our last one.

The food was quite tasty, the service nice when they attended the table but we were seated round a corner which meant it was hard to get someone's attention, I had to get up and get salt and pepper as there was none on the table. Food pleasant, drinks ok, service a little patchy

Impeccable service. Couldn't fault our meals. My dessert of creme caramel was sublime, probably the best I've ever had. Lovely interior. Spotless loos. The 3 courses for £18.95 on the special menu was exceptional value.
