Côte Reading

It was great - good food and nice restaurant. Check your bill though as I didn't and we were charged for an extra cappuccino that we didn't have.

Usual first class experience with great food, friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Despite being busy, service was timely. The highloght for me was the superb Boudin Noir starter.

My wife and i had a free weekend and wanted to go out for a nice meal but somewhere comfortable and relaxed. Yet again excellent food and service

Good food, service and atmosphere as always. First visit to Reading Cote and just as good as in-town locations. Will definitely be going back soon.

Staff are very professional. Were welcomed on arrival and shown promptly to the table we had booked. Was given a list of recommendations etc. Food was delicious and was very impressed with the drink selection.

The service was quick and unobtrusive - and we were able to attract the attention of waiting staff when we needed them. The meals came quickly (we were eating before going to the cinema) and were delicious. One diner thought her pear and endive salad followed by haddock parmentier was the best meal she had eaten for ages.

Unfortunately we felt as if we were in a school canteen we were served 3 courses within 30 mins , it was clear they could not get rid of us fast enough. The food was tasty but as we were there to have a long lunch with our daughter whom we were not going to see for a couple of months , this was a poor choice for us.

We always get very good service at Cote Reading, the staff are always very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. Food is always very tasty and great value for money!

Service was great, our waiter was really friendly. Food was delicious too. The set menu was great value and the a la carte dishes were also excellent.

Food and service was mostly excellent. A little let down by dry and bitter tasting profiteroles at the end but no hassle when the staff were told. Good atmosphere reasonable wine prices as well.

Always really good food here. Had the duck which was lovely and apple tart was solid too. Will definitely go back more than once. Great

The usual standard of food and service we expect from this chain. Although it was quiet being three pm the food was very fresh and well cooked.

Nice setting and friendly staff, it was busier towards the end of the sitting but the staff managed well. Would visit again as the early evening menu is very good value with good options

Lovely leisurely lunch enjoyed by three friends. The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We are very pleased to recommend this restaurant.

Love this restaurant - menu never changes, but the staff are always so lovely, and the food is always cooked well. I have deducted one point because it really annoys me how far away the toilets are - I can never be bothered to walk up those long stairs! :)

Been to this restaurant many times. As always excellent food and great service. Best restaurant in Reading . The team there always go out of their way to provide a great service.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The staff were very efficient and friendly and our order was taken promptly. Our only comment about the food was the calamari starter was slightly over cooked the rest was excellent.

Great service, delicious food. No down side to the good-value set menu. Wine not too expensive, and always appreciate the filtered water at the table. Great!

Excellent food and great personal service and good value especially the set lunch and dinner. Could either bring down the price of the beers or bettter still serve draught beer.

This is the best Cote Brasserie I have been to. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food arrives promptly and tastes delicious, which is often not the case for a chain restaurant. Love the riverside location. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely atmosphere for a dinner for two, good service and food. We can recommend the house wine - I had Rose and my husband the Merlot!

Would be nice to have some non-French wine choices, especially at the cheaper end and I think it's ridiculous to charge 12.5% service - in a Michellin star restaurant, yes, but not a chain restaurant. Otherwise service was ok and food was good.

my favourite meal served in my favourite restaurant by my favourite waitress. Perfect wedding anniversary treat. I can't fault the place. From the interior to the menu to the quality of food to the music to the most excellent service. I just love the Cote!!

Food good and service good. We had the anniversary menu which as more than adequate. Not sure why our table was not prepared in advance when we had booked.

Nice restaurant and service, but food very inconsistent. Someone in my party ordered mussels which were rubbery and not very pleasant. I have tried Cote Reading 2 times now and I know we will not visit again at this point.

Lovely atmosphere and great lighting. Waiter was very helpful and attentive. Draught from door made food cold though and I didn't like the vinaigrette sauce with my haddock.

The food quality and service was exactly what we expected, but the whole evening was spoiled by our server's reluctance to change the service charge. At 12.5% for straightforward service to just 6 people it was not far off adding the cost of another diner to our bill. Our intention was to change it to an amount we felt more appropriate, but to our amazement we were told that they would 'prefer not to, as it was disrespectful to the other staff'. In the end we asked another server to do it, but be warned that our experience suggests that Cote would appear to EXPECT you to pay much more than the prices displayed.

Lovely atmosphere and food, some of the staff lovely, one of the servers looking after us didn't seem to know what was going on but maybe he was still training? Either way the rest of the staff were lovely and food/drink high quality

Only one meal from five of us was disappointing. The service was excellent as always; very attentive and considerate as we we're balancing the needs of a toddler.

Our favourite restaurant outside London ( in London try Pierre Victoire/Prix Fixe) another great meal. Second visit in two weeks first was in Liverpool and a good wine find too

great food, good service, but mostly my good friends. prosecco could be reduced in price. we meet every 3 months and sometimes find it hard to choose from the menu as I've had everything before. Would like more new options.

I took my sister here for the first time. The welcome was lovely, the service great, the menu wonderful and the prices very good. The standard is always high in Cote and I will always go back.

Lovely food and great service. We ordered from the anniversary menu which had great choices and enjoyed our complimentary glass of champagne. Would visit again

Walked in with a family in front and a couple behind both were seated before me, I had no apology for being ignored. Then had to wait 30 minutes for our mains. Plenty of other restaurants in the Oracle, I'm not coming back in a hurry

A lovely venue on the Riverside in Reading. Easy car parking very good food at reasonable prices and very attentive staff. Also a restaurant that caters for adults not children which is nice.

Excellent food, would definitely recommend and will be back. Very good choice of food and suitable vegetarian options for one member of party. Busy restaurant but still well looked after by friendly staff.

Excellent food and service as usual, nothing needs improving as far as we are concerned. We will be back as usual very soon if not sooner

Great food, atmosphere and service. We have never had a bad experience at any of the 3 Cote's we have been to. Eton/Windsor, Wokingham and Reading.
