Four of us enjoyed our meals which were reasonably priced and chosen from a specials list. Items were forgotten twice but delivered with profuse apologies. Would definitely go to Cote again
Excellent service - unobtrusive but friendly and efficient. Good quality food. Lively atmosphere and ambience. Menu is well priced and quantities are just right. Very good wine list
Although the set lunch menu food was good overall (even if the portion size was rather small) we were sat twice in unpleasant and unenjoyable places. On arrival we were shown to a corner in a bar which was clearly being used for morning coffee. We asked to be moved. The waiter ignored our request at first but when we persisted we were moved to another part of the bar, slightly better environment but not a pleasant situation in which to enjoy lunch, more like a busy corridor the traffic through which made conversation difficult and the whole experience unenjoyable. The lunch itself was, as I say, well prepared and pleasant to eat and very good value. The service was rather brusque but attentive. At no time was the main restaurant area, which looked quite pleasant, full and we were at a loss as to why we were stuck in the bar. We won't return. There are far more enjoyable places in Winchester.
Very good food and service: we were given the table we wanted and were not kept waiting at any stage. Treviac wine excellent, as was calamari and the poulet breton.
The all in price breakfast which includes a hot drink and fruit juice is excellent value in this high quality restaurant. We received a warm welcome and attentive staff.
Excellent - good food - good service. Really pleasant meal in good environment in buzzy restaurant in Winchester - Nice bottle of wine and very good complementary water
Slow service and bad stomach all night after meal-- apart from that it was lovely! Blamed slow service on another big table-- poor excuse and not acceptable
very good value early evening menu (2 courses for £10.95 if ordered before 7pm) - makes a big difference on cost for a party of 5! Pleasant surroundings - restaurant arranged over 3 levels so it doesn't feel too crowded. Staff friendly but not always efficient; my soup arrived cold and side dishes arrived after we had already eaten the mains!
It would have been really brilliant had it not been for a family with very loud children whom the parents could not control. The lovely waitress tried her best to control and passing these children running around the restaurant . To no great success. We eventually moved to a different part of the restaurant.
The restaurant was pretty quiet so service was good, was happy to be in the quieter area where it was also cooler. The food was fine, although I wasn't over impressed with the fish main course of haddock. The creme caramel was sublime as it always is.
The food was good, service was good and the atmosphere was good. We will certainly return in the not-too-distant future. I wish they did large glasses of wine or carafes.
Warm welcome when we arrived. Busy so there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Very pleasant waitress and the food was of a good standard as always. This is our preferred eating place in Winchester.
Great food and service. We gave the waitress a tip and she refused to take it as service is included! Our friend said that the sauce which accompanies the frozen berries was not up to the usual standard - she was not charged for it!
The entire experience of location, service and food were extremely good. We shal certainly go again. The air conditioning was most welcome although the noise from other diners was not always welcome.
Everything about the evening was perfect. Delicious food and, although we were eating late, we never felt rushed and the staff were all welcoming and charming.
As always a pleasant and enjoyable meal in a lively, brasserie-style atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is good- not exceptional but always good, tasty and not over-priced.
A friendly and prompt welcome, good and prompt service throughout the meal with excellent food at a reasonable price. A most enjoyable visit and we will return
Food and drinks were good. Side orders didn't turn up until we had finished. Removed from bill. Otherwise very good. Nice atmosphere and comfortable setting.
Very good. Lovely food and wine. Not a lot of choice for me but I know I'm picky. The service was good though we did have to sit with dirty dishes longer than felt reasonable. Will certainly go again.
It was a very busy lunchtime when we visited, which accounted for the slow service from the kitchen. The waiting staff were friendly and polite and did apologise for the wait and also for my husband not receiving his appetiser. We enjoyed our food when it did arrive and it was very well cooked and presented. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable and we look forward to dining there again.
Very pleasant environment and helpful staff. Huge roomy interioFood like all cotes everywhere- tasty, good quality. One aside - - Noticed there was seating outside toilets ... now that's very odd!
Tasty food and great service. The set menu is excellent value. Winchester branch is a gem. House wine is very drinkable and reasonably priced. Waiting team are cheery and attentive.
We had a wonderful evening with very good service and tasted food. All the staff as friendly and helpful as ever. Hope to be offered another deal very soon
An enjoyable meal for 4 of us. Food and wine good as well as some Kir Royales. Reasonable price and good choices on the menu.
Very delicious breakfast, superb service and couldn't recommend more highly. We couldn't have enjoyed the start to our 33rd wedding anniversary celebrations more! Try it!!
Went for an early evening meal with excellent lunch menu. We were so full we couldn't manage a sweet! Good fund, good service, excellent value!
The food is as always a good repsentive of simple but quality French food. The atmosphere is very good. The only issue we had on our last visit was the complimentry kir we had to ask for and was originally added to our bill but was sorted out.
The food was delicious as usual however the welcome was not as warm and the general ambience not as relaxed as we have come to expect
Food great topped by truly excellent service from everyone. We were really looked after well. Cheese board disappointing and would be better with biscuits is my only negative.
We very much enjoyed our visit . The meal was tasty and good value. The service was friendly and professional. My husband did comment that his dessert wine was not as chilled as he would have liked and it was explained to him that this was the temperature that the supplier recommended.
Another excellent meal. The tuna nicoise was delicious and I enjoyed the lemon tart too. Such friendly service with a smile. My friend enjoyed her somewhat different meal of heritage tomatoes and frites. She wasn't so happy with her pavlova which didn't live up to expectations - hence the missing point off the rating. But it won't stop a return in the near future I hope.
Overall a great evening food was delicious . I had asked for a window seat which we weren't given however a good table until. Table of 10 arrived next to us. noise levels were more than we would have wished. Service was good maybe a tiny bit brisk to begin with. On the whole a good evening.
The staff are always smart, courteous and friendly. The arrangement of tables is spacious; the table are a good size; the seating is comfortable. The music, although not needed, is low level. These things are so important for an enjoyable experience. Finally and even more importantly, the food menus are wonderful and good value for money. So, that's why we go regularly to Cote Brasserie.
We always enjoy our time at Cote in Winchester. The staff are polite and friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. The menu choices for June were up to standard, can't wait for July's selection.
Food great and service really friendly as usual. It still annoys me that 12.5% service charge is added automatically. That's should be up to me to give in person.
Good amosphere, very friendly service & good food, ate from ala carte menu , felt the 29th anniversary menu & the Wines rather expensive .
Lovely food and great and friendly service Never disappointed with the quality of food at cote and the menu was varied and had something for everyone
Excellent overall long lunch at Cote Winchester .6 of us met after many years to catch up .Delicious food and excellent service . One of our party was held up in traffic and the staff kindly prepared their order when they arrived so it didn't go cold . Good. Ali's for the quality of food
Very bad food this evening Been many times and loved it Took friends this evening having raved about it and had to send 3 courses back. Inedible risotto and flatbread starter Really poor Highly disappointed compared to normal wonderful quality food
Very welcoming staff and service throughout lunch. Great wine, food and ambivalence Good location easy to find A good space between tables comfortable seating I look forward to going again
The food is as always a good repsentive of simple but quality French food. The atmosphere is very good. The only issue we had on our last visit was the complimentry kir we had to ask for and was originally added to our bill but was sorted out.
My friends fillet steak was 'veiny' I ordered salad but received creamed spinach, however, your manageress took the steak, garlic butter and spinach off the bill so my birthday lunch was not a complete disaster. Never had a bad meal or problem at Winchester Cote and will be going back.
Just poor service. It was very quiet, lots of staff around, but it took ages for things to arrive. Bearing in mind we only had two courses, it took two hours to eat our meal. We had to ask where our coffees had gone
We really enjoyed our meal at Cotes Brasserie. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. A really lovely evening. We will definitely be visiting again!
Steak wasn't quite up to the mark today - but as always the staff and the ambience were a delight! Great value for money and the crème caramel, as always, was the best in town.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very helpful with the menu choices. We were made aware that the special main chicken would appear rather pink and asked if we would be happy with the assurance that it would be fully cooked.
Excellent meal and friendly professional service. A good cool spot on a hot summer's day. I would have given the max 6 points if there had been a little more potato in the Tuna Nicoise, less mixed peppers and more olives. Otherwise the tuna, eggs and dressing were made with great care and excellent fresh ingredients.
Great service and excellent steaks. Really happy we chose to eat here abdcwill be back. The restaurant lay out is quite quirky on many levels but this stops it sounding like a turkey farm!
Gorgeous food, excellent choice and interesting gluten-free menu :-) Polite and engaging staff, relaxing ambience and great attention to detail. Looking forward to going back!
Cote is a smart restaurant with a relaxed feel. Great service, good food cooked well. A good choice on the menu. Great stuff. Just up the High st. from town and close to Tower St car park.
poor service, poor food. they clearly lost our order and we had to send a main back cold. they gave us pudding for free but damage done.
