It's was Mother's Day we were greeted given a lovely table , food excellent and a complimentary bottle of red found it too sharp a bit disappointing and would not pay over £20 ! Staff were fantastic
The food was great, friendly service for a birthday meal out with friends. Great value for money, would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again soon
Always a pleasure to visit Cote in Brighton - delicious food and wine, stylish surroundings, and the staff are really welcoming and attentive. 5 stars!
It was my first time at this restaurant and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble and they deal well with food allergies. The food was enjoyable.
This is the first time I have been disappointed with a meal at this restaurant. I had the Hachis Parmentair, with peas. Unfortunately I had to send it back because it was only warm & I had asked the waiter to make sure it was hot before he brought it to the table. I did not eat all of it a sit was quite dry & in the bottom of the dish at the sides it was black. It was a shame as we always enjoy the food at this restaurant.
Food was ok. They had a large hen party downstairs which meant we were shouting to hear each other at our table for two. We were at a tiny table which was part of a row of tables they have added since the last time I was here. We felt very squashed. Prices have definitely gone up and I would say it is no longer good value. There are better restaurants in Brighton in this price range. They just seem to be after the money and no longer care about diners. I probably won't go again, unless I'm in a hen party!
Eating here is always such a special experience. The food is amazing but it is the service that is really outstanding. You are welcomed as a valued customer and nothing is too much trouble. It's also brilliant value for money.
The food was delicious as always and the service was great. My only gripe is that I dropped off a cake for my son for his birthday with 3 lots of chocolates and candles that i bought ( I did offer to decorate it myself) the cake came out without any of the extra's on it...and they were not offered to me!!!!! the staff then had to run around and find them.....disappointed with that. :(
Food and service at it's usual best! warm welcome, nice food and wine. We'll be back again soon no doubt. First time eating up stairs too.
Excellent service and great food! Have been dining at Cote for several years and never disappointed, will recommend to friends. Perfect restaurant to eat at before theatre because service is so efficient and reliable so need to stress before show.
The food was really tasty and the atmosphere was great, the only negative is that the service was a bit slow but it was very busy so that's understandable.
Not my first visit here. The service and the staff are always brilliant. This occasion we had breakfast which included a juice and coffee. Great value.
Fabulous ! Excellent service and food . The atmosphere is amazing . Love every moment. You can't ask for anything better. Would definitely recommend my friends and family to come to Cotes restaurant.
Great food and atmosphere. But service slow. Would definitely go back, lovely place but just need to improve slightly on service speed and taking extra care
We went to the Cote in Brighton for the first time. The service was good. I ordered the chicken, walnut and advocado salad which was twice returned to me without the advocado. Eventually I did get the correct order after 20 minutes, with no dressing! The staff were kind but disorganised. I have had the same salad in Haywards Heath which was bigger and better all round. My friend also felt that her 1/2 chicken dish had been sitting on the side for some time, it was only tepid. Shame, we are both fans of Cote and hope this was a one off poor experience.
Excellent meal and efficient service. Very attentive staff. Food was lively as always. Though table was next to the ladies toilet which was a bit off putting.
Food ok, big groups meant less service for small groups, nice place. Good deal, food could be better, very noisy, liked it that we weren't rushed
We had booked and were seated in the area we asked for which was lovely. The waitress and manager (lady too) were very polite and efficient. The starter was served quickly as were the drinks and were delicious! We tried cod this time and it was very tasty and light. We then had apple tart desert with coffee, very good too! We managed to have an all around excellent meal all in time to enjoy the performance at the Theatre Royal afterwards. Very happy customers and we look forward to coming back soon :-) Thank you !
Very efficient and easy to book! Great food and service. Staff very attentive and friendly , lots of choices from the different menu options, something for everyone!
we went for breakfast and I had smoked salmon and perfect scrambled eggs with chives. The restaurant was not full and the service was frindly and quick. I love this high ceilinged room and we come here regularly as it is generally a reliable standard of cooking and service.
Food very good, but the wait for the main course was way too long. Restaurant seemed overstretched on a Sunday before bank holiday. This was a pity as the space is great, food is good, value for money also commendable. I mentioned the wait to the wait staff but no explanation or apology was given.
Always excellent. Great food great staff great restaurant. Hug yhh For is a good idea and came to the call of the sunshine and then I'll
Good choice of dishes, well prepared with seasonal specials that change each month. Great staff, polite and welcoming providing a good service. Very busy so need to book.
Good experience, good food, plenty of it, well cooked, mostly well and rapidly served (there was a slight hiccup somewhere along the line but nothing serious, I can't remember what it was, maybe we had to remind someone that we'd ordered coffee?? - but it was nothing). We were four and had the pre-theatre menu at 5pm on Friday. The bill was just less than £100 inc. the service charge, and everyone had three courses and coffee and we had a bottle of wine (your Viognier - which is good!). As we learnt when we lived in France, the crucial equation is 'le rapport entre la qualité et le prix' - and, in our opinion, this was (again as they say in France) 'correcte' (100%). In general, we find Côte, Brighton, very reliable on this score.
Very good food as always. However, as often happens, long wait to catch waiter's eye to pay. When you need to get away, this can be annoying.
Although quite noisy when we arrived as there was a large party of over 20 people seated near to us, there was a good atmosphere, good service and good food.
Our French waitress was excellent and really charming. The food was delicious and we loved being able to enjoy the sunshine outside. I think the wine is too expensive though.
The restaurant is in the best part of Brighton, offered a warm welcome, good food and portion size, an excellent waiter and an upmarket ambience. Very good indeed
Great food and service, although it did take a bit of convincing to get our preferred table location. Air conditioning was blasting, so food quickly got cold, had to eat too fast.
Arrive at appointed. Time of 2.00pm and by 2.50 had only had 1st course at least 35mins before 2nd course arrived. Management said they had a lot of customers and yet there were many empty tables. Go often to Cotes in Ealing Chiswick and Westbourne grove always good service A pity to have bad experience
Very nice meal and always attentive staff. Service on Cote is always good and staff are friendly. Good wine and beer selection so always worth a visit.
As expected very good service, good food & wine and an excellent atmosphere, staff very friendly and welcoming. Always my first choice before going to the theatre.
Very nice breakfast. Lovely scrambled egg and smoked salmon. Asked for pain au chocolate to be warmed but they must have heated it for 1 second
New booking system does not allow comments, which is bad. Good pre- theatre menu. Good pre- theatre menu. Good pre- theatre menu. Good pre- theatre menu. Good pre- theatre menu.
I'm a regular customer at Cote but often pop in on the spur of the moment so have just started to book on line. I always enjoy the food and services of professional pleasant staff I give it maximum points..
Food excellent but thought the portion of mussels rather small for the price. Service very attentive. A very enjoyable experience will definitely recommend to friends.
The food was lovely, service also good. Unfortunately, there was a very raucous hen party of 20 women in the restaurant sitting right next to us. The waitress offered to move us in between courses, but we declined as the hen party was impacting on the whole of the restaurant, so moving would have been pointless. The hen party were making some of the staff feel on edge, and their behaviour would have been more appropriate in a different setting. When I think of Cote, I don't imagine it's ok to stand on the table.
Good food, great atmosphere, and very helpful and cheerful staff, especially when singing "'Happy Birthday" to my wife. Even booking the reservation on-line was very clear and straight forward. Would recommend.
Great venue, great choice, great food, great service - as always. Can get very noisy when full so prefer to get there earlier. Got another date there soon .....
It's always classy and brilliant here, the food is amazing and the staff are very professional, it's always a treat to come here and I couldn't rate it high enough
I got a voucher that said get a free bottle of wine if you use this site. I didn't get the wine. I was then handed another voucher when I left.
We had excellent food and paid sensible prices. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. The whole experience was delightful.
Excellent meet and greet- good food as usual. Very pleasant experience. Rbecommend the artichoke and whitebait starters, and sea bream worthy of m ends st double the cost.
Always a good experience at this lively and friendly place. Steak n chips, salad and a bottle of house red - perfect. 25 words needed!
Food was luke warm. Everything else was spot on as usual friendly staff, lovely sparkling wine nice atmosphere.if I came again for breakfast I would ensure it came hot
Great food, great service. The caramari was the best I've ever had. We have been to this restaurant before and will definitely be going again.
Great lunch place and great food, however, I was meeting someone and as we both arrived separately, we were also seated separately for 15 minutes until the staff realised that we were waiting for each other - a better mechanism for ensuring 'matching'. Unusually it took ages to have food order to be taken so it was 45 minutes before we actually started our lunch... This time rated 4, previously much higher.
Excellent service, very attentive staff. The food is delicious and the dishes never fail to please. Love the special offer deal they do before 7pm which makes the restaurant affordable for all.
Good service as usual, we arrived earlier but very welcoming staff gave us table. And enjoyed the evening as usual. We will be back next week
Very good value. Delicious food and good service. Roomy and pleasant atmosphere. Saturday night very busy but staff had time for everyone. Half of my wife's rib eye steak was grizzle and she left it. When the waitress asked her why she left it, she explained that it was grizzly and uneatable. The Maitre D' came along, profusely apologized and offered the desserts on the house.i
