Good service and good food. Linguine was a fraction too al dente for my taste. Creme caramel up to its usual brilliant standard. Everything one expects from Cote including a pleasant ambience.
Hen party was disappointing since most places don’t allow it now
It's always hard to write, as an amateur, a review without sounding, "phoney". But, I'll try. Friends, family and I have been coming to Cote for years we have never had cause to complain. If I have commented on anything, and it was just a comment, whatever it was, was resolved immediately, with a smile and without any fuss. That's the way they do things! The food is ALWAYS excellent, the staff are ALWAYS excellent and the price is ALWAYS realistic. Cote, is the ONLY restaurant in Brighton which I would heartily recommend without worrying, they may have an "off night"...they never have and I doubt they ever will.

Another lovely meal at Cote Brighton, just right before going to The Theatre Royal. Great atmosphere service and of course the food. See you again soon.
Lovely chicken, not dry and very tasty. Crab salad a little disappointing, it was a bit mushy - the mix could have been separately served for a better eating experience
Food was on the whole nice but expensive for portion sizes. Service was good. Place was crowded but was a Friday night. Drinks also v expensive
My wife and I decided on the Valentine menu, smoked salmon, prawn gratine, and fillet steaks finished off with the hazelnut and grand mariner truffles for two. We both agreed this was the best meal we have had in Cote, and we have had quite a few over the years. The only downside was no complimentary glass of Kia Royal which was included on last years menu.
Great meal , food and wine superb as always. Sadly some vibrations and noise from music was a bit of a distraction.
Great- lovely meals, good service. Nice atmosphere , good all round service and ambiance I would like to see more veggie selection on the menu and more g free veggie
Food average, speed of service terrible, had to cancel dessert order as took too long. Cote need more staff at peak times to cater for trade.

I ordered the cassoulet after seeing it advertised on the website, when it came it was nothing like the picture. The portion was small, the beans were tasteless and the meat seemed to have been added afterwards in the form of a very small duck leg and sausage. My friend's stew was similarly lacking oomph. The waitresses were lovely and service good but the food has gone downhill over the past year.Pity. I hope it picks up.
Cote in Brighton is our regular one although we do visit the one in Lewis too (also excellent!) and in London (various depends where we go ). The standard is always excellent and last Saturday the service of the waiter (s) working as a team very good indeed. The food as always was delicious - so big thanks to the kitchen staff as well :-)
A perfect birthday lunch. Staff were charming and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
The menu always has something delicious no matter how many times I visit. I have been visiting for years with a wide range of friends and relations. The staff let me sit and talk and never push to get rid of me...though when very busy I try not to take advantage. All the staff are lovely and seem to work well as a team. Great atmosphere!
We always enjoy meals at Cote Brasserie Brighton as they are consistently excellent, good value and reasonably priced. We have always found the staff helpful, friendly and efficient.
Visited the Brighton restaurant on 6th April. Seated promptly by hostess. Fantastic waiter who was attentive and charismatic. Food was excellent, especially the sirloin, cooked perfectly. Plates cleared promptly, wasn't kept waiting at any point. Staff all worked seamlessly with each other. Couldn't fault the experience. Overall service and food was fantastic
We always enjoy our evenings in Cote Brasserie and last night was no exception. There is always a buzz of people enjoying themselves, it is always busy but the exceptionally professional and charming staff ensure you are served quickly no matter how full they are. The meal last night was delish - especially the Creme Caramel which was the best I have ever had. It is our favourite chain and think they keep the standards very high. Well done - see you again soon! Caroline
What a fab place this is. Service is always busy effect and the foods spot on. Thankyou you never disappoint. We look forward to our next visit
Had a lovely evening at Cote Brighton. Staff We're very friendly, good food and excellent service. Would highly recomend. Good location if you are going to The Dome after.
Food was luke-warm and table arrangement resulted in a slightly cramped experience. Overall was a lovely experience and throughly enjoyed what the menu had to offer
A regular at Cote always with a group of friends. Food is always superb. Staff very friendly and as our main course was delayed, they were honest, apologised and offered a gesture of good will. Really can’t ask for anymore. Thanks for a great evening. We shall be back. Our waiter was superb too. Also have a disabled toilet on the ground floor, wish all restaurants did. Super.
Another fabulous meal. Everything cooked beautifully. Seasoned well. Great atmosphere. My husband & I & friends love it in there. What’s not to love. Thank you.
Wonderful birthday meal. The food was fantastic , and the staff/service amazing.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and wonderful service. Always good value for money and such good wine! There was a little wait for the drinks but it was an incredibly busy Saturday night.
The food was excellent with one exception;the haddock was overcooked. Service was slow but the I think the food was slow coming from the kitchen. It was very busy in the restaurant.
Great food as always, never disappointed with Côte and that’s why we usually book in every time we have a day out in Brighton!
Friendly and efficient staff, good food at good prices. We had the breakfasts and they were excellent.
Shame to be with s load of drunk 50year olds singing football songs. Would have been Much better to keep the drunks together and let the rest of us enjoy our evening. We were there early so surprised by how meany drunk groups there. ☹️
We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but Cote to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We came along with our dear friends who equally love Cote. We all agreed the staff who are polite, courteous & professional always deliver fabulous food & delicious cold cremant de Bourgogne & muscadet. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. We are fully fledged Brighton Cote enthusiasts.
Nice place for a pre theatre 🎭 lunch.. pleasant friendly service and pleasant staff..Service was fairly slow but that wasn’t to much of a problem as was in good company
Service second to none as ever. Made it special for my sons birthday. Always a nice atmosphere there. Only disappointment was chicken a bit on the dry side and prefer brioche with the pate which used to be served with it.
Friendly and officiant staff. The food was really delicious and there was plenty of it. Certainly good value for money. We were welcomed and spoken to by many of the staff in a very friendly way. No complaints!
Dear Sirs It is with regret that the service my wife and I received was poor. on arrival we were shown to our table and the evening appeared to be starting well. Our first course followed which was enjoyable and it was from this point on that the evening went regrettably down hill. We noted that the table next to ours had received their main course even though they had arrived some 30 minutes after we had. My wife's meal followed after some time without mine. When her meal was delivered the manager then had to ask me "what had I ordered as there was a mix up in the kitchen even though it was him that took the order in the first place. My wife then asked whether the fries could be re-heated as they were very cold. The manager then took away her fries and then left her the plate of food to go cold instead of taking it back to the kitchen. At this point I was still without my main course. He shortly returned with the fries heated and I was then told that "there had been a mix up in the kitchen and my meal would arrive shortly, which it did although some 15 minutes had now gone by and the birthday dinner was now ruined. I have to say that this is not the first, second or even third time that this has happened to us and only last year our anniversary was again ruined by very poor service which resulted in Cotes sending me a £100.00 voucher. Talking to friends this now appears to be common practice in Cote's in that when friends arrive for dinner one person is left out and has to wait for their food whilst everyone else is eating theirs. It is so common in fact that our close friend who drove us to Cote's had been in with five friends for lunch and again one of them was forgotten and had to eat her meal on her own as by the time hers arrived everyone else had finished. The other issue that appears to be very common is 'cold food'. It does strike me as quite odd in that we observed the food being brought up from the kitchen and the guy then standing around for many minutes waiting for a manager to deliver the food to the table. We observed in one case a wait of 6 minute for the manager to take the food to the table, and yet again a short while later the table complained that their food was cold and had to be taken back to the kitchen. What is a worrying trend for Cote's is that the same mistakes appear to be happening time and time again and no one is actually getting to grips with the problem. That said our waiter was "absolutely fabulous" however regrettably we did not manage to take his name, although we know he is from Porto in Portugal and dealt with our issues in an extremely efficient professional way. Our opinion of the management (and other regulars feel the it to) is not the same. They appear cold, aloof and when the wheels are coming off they are no where to be seen and stand by the bar and let the floor staff deal with the issues even though they are the ones taking the orders and then not supporting the waiters and waitresses. Yes we are very disappointed in that for the fourth time Cote's have let us down on an important day be it, birthdays, anniversaries or graduations and regrettably it will be while before we return.
Overall a good lunch time get together for three ladies "out to lunch". We all decided to choose from the lunch time special menu. Two out of three of us were very happy with our choices. but my friend who chose the fish dish received a very small portion and felt pressured into having to have a side dish too - so not such good value for her. Always lively chatter going on in Cote but this time rather noisier than usual. But no problem! We'll be back again soon.
We had booked as it would be busy. We both had a very good three course meal from different menus. The food was great as well as the atmpshoer and the staff were attentive and helpful.
Lovely meal, good wine selection, comfortable booth. Would come back again
From the greetings at the door to the wonderful food and excellent service, Brighton Côte never disappoints. The gluten free menu was extensive! Thank you, Côte!
The food was delicious, the service was outstanding. It was our wedding anniversary and the table was decorated with flowers and we got champagne. I had an amazing time with my husband, I highly recommend! Isabel
Great service in a great restaurant!! Food and service lovely as always!
It was very busy and even though we’d booked a table we were sitting by the door squashed between the curtain covering it and the coat rack which was a shame. Excellent friendly service but I was disappointed at the lack of non meat dishes and having chosen one of the few things-spinach and mushroom crepes- I wasn’t impressed. It had been baked to a crisp and was so oily (butter and/or cream ?) that despite it being a pleasant flavour, meant I was unable to finish it . That said , all other food was delicious!
Please see earlier email as our complaint is around one person being left waiting for food whilst the other is eating theirs and food cold by the time it arrives at the table
Our favourite resturant, They were very busy but the staff were really good & the food was excellent. It was our 47th wedding anniversary & we were given a glass of champagne each. Really enjoyed it
Lovely food and service as always, never fault it. Always recommend.
Atmosphere was very good and the staff were so polite and attentive. We enjoyed the night. Thank you
Always beautifully presented and professionally served French cuisine at a restaurant I revisit time and time again. You can’t beat it.
Lovely food, excellent staff and service. Great for pre theatre meal. Will certainly go again. We were seated upstairs and this was quieter more relaxed atmosphere.
We have dined many times at Cote and whether as a couple or with a group of friends we have always enjoyed ourselves. Last evening was no exception - the atmosphere was lively, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious as usual.
Excellent service and delicious food, as always at Cote. Lovely atmosphere as this restaurant is always busy. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
We had a great time at Cote last night. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. We arrived at 8.00pm having booked a table for three people. Although the restaurant was very busy we were quickly shown to our table and given menus. We ordered flatbreads to share whilst we ordered our starters and main courses. We were very happy with our choice of food. I had the onion soup as a starter and my wife and friend shared the smoked salmon dish. Both tasted delicious. Our friend ordered the sea bass as her main course and my wife and I had the fish parmentier. These were again very tasty. We finished off the meal with two creme caramels. Throughout our meal the staff were very attentive. We were given just the right amount of time between the courses to make the evening relaxed and not rushed. We were given a free bottle of wine as I had previously opted to join their email list. I think there are quite a few good offers available online and in local publications if you look out for them. A friend of mine often enjoys the pre-theatre menu. We had a really good time. We don’t often eat in ‘chain’ restaurants but Cote is definitely our favourite. We will return.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary.Shown to our table promptly our cocktails arrived we were feft to choose from the menu not rushed, the food arrived which was delicious and the service amazing .
