Cottons - Shoreditch

We were less than a minute away from the restaurant and 10 minutes late when they called to ask if we were coming. I said we were and was actually opposite the restaurant. When we arrived the assistant warned that another group was coming at 8pm (our booking was 6pm) and we had to be ready to leave when the other group arrive. It took 40 minutes for the food to arrive. The starters and the main together. The food was nice and authentic, however, they were in small proportions compared to the price. The waiter gently reminded us about the 8pm slot for the other group! We left between 8.05 and 8.10pm, so the other group was late. If you were really hungry, I would not recommend this restaurant and it is quite expensive. It's more suited for lunch, early evening dining.

Great food, everything was super tasty and didnt take long to arrive. Staff were really fun and friendly, cocktails were really nice but strong as well so value for money. Atmosphere really lively and music was on point!

The waiter was welcoming and accommodating. The music was great. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were HEALTHY! The service was quick. Overall, an amazing experience for my sister’s birthday.

I really enjoyed the food, the cocktails and the dessert... although it was a timed turnaround, I think 3 hours, we managed to eat, chill and enjoy ourself before our time was up..

Food was very nice, went there for a friend's birthday. Recommend Saltfish Fritters. They have happy hour weekdays, although only limited to four types of cocktails, but if you like a drink with a kick, opt for the Cottons Punch.

Absolutely love the food and ambiance! And the manager and waitress was so professional.Felt like i was home away from home.. Made my birthday dinner so worth it! Jamaican living in London!! 😁😁

Food was okay. Menu wasn't very specific, so there is confusion when you receive the food. A little overpriced for the quality of food. Service okay. Nothing special.

A very lengthy wait for the food, most of the dessert menu wasn't available and the loyalty scheme was different to what was explained on the website and in emails, which was quite disappointing so I had to pay full price. Other than that it was a nice atmosphere, the staff were friendly. The overall flavour of the food was good, rice was a little on the salty side, and some of the dishes were cold but mine was fine. I will probably try one of the other branches next time.

This was my first time at Cottons. The food was excellent. However, customer service needs slight improvement. Ordered 2 starters at the same time as our main course there were 5 of us. We received our main course before the starters. When we asked were the starters were. Response from staff member was we did not order any starters in a dismissive manner. She continued to repeat “no starters were ordered” at this point I firmly but politely asked her to listen and acknowledged that there could of been some confusion on our part. It was only at this point she said my English is not very good and apologised. If she had accepted some responsibility, my overall experience would of been a 6.

Food was fantastic but the service was not that great despite the staff being very friendly. When we took our table at 6.15 (we were running a little late) we were told we would have to vacate our table at 6.15 which at the time seemed fine. However it took a while for somebody to take our order and then when the food came up our starters arrived at the same time as our main course. Then after finishing and discussing desserts we were advised that it was gone 8 and that our table was needed shortly so that was that. It wouldn't put me off going back again but hopefully they'll have sorted the service out by then.

It’s a nice place to eat but had to wait a little too long for the food and it wasn’t even busy. Also there should always be a waiter that stays upstairs at all times as when I walked in I had to sit myself down and wait a while before anyone came. I had also booked a table online before coming but sat myself where I wanted to as no one was around.

My food tasted very good but my partners burger was fare away from the best. Staff was very friendly. It was to loud in the restaurant.

Great food, brilliant DJ and a fantastic atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back! Definitely think it’ll be one of my new favourite restaurants to go to! :)
