Food was amazing. Been a few times and never fails to impress.
Great food, really great service despite being a busy evening for the staff. They were accommodating and offered recompense when an inconvenience occurred.
Having visited the Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield, I found Fitzrovia a little cramped. Food and service was incredible, as you would expect from the Crazy Bear. What would have been a nice touch would have been some sort of nod to Valentines day (other than the rose on the table). Maybe a little gift of chocolates, or a single rose? This is being picky and considering the amount spent on average for the dinner.
The Evening Standards best bar of the year award, Theme Magazine's best designer and best
operated bar, The Times runner up for best bar in Southern England and voted as best restaurant
by the London Lifestyle Awards The Crazy Bear Fitzrovia surprassed every expectation in terms
of popularity and accolades. The first London venue opened in 2004 and literally hit the roof
ever since. This location definitely appeals to the flashier, cash rich segment of Fitzrovia, which
have been in and out of here ever since the opening. Smartly black-clad staff escort you to your
restaurant tables, or downstairs to the bar. Everything is in dimly light.
But it's not just about the surface sheen! The menu justify it's higher prices with grand, culinary masterpieces you've never ate before. Chefs from Thailand, China and Japan produce a menu that ranges from classics of the asian cuisine to unique dishes like chargrilled lamb cutlets with French beans, XO sauce, mango and mint. Try the red Gressingham duck breast with pineapple and lychee, and don't miss out on the grilled red snapper wrapped in banana leaf with fragrant thai herbs. The Crazy Bear Fitzrovia on Whitfield Street knows how to give you a special treat!
