C&W’s African Experience Restaurant lets you enjoy African hospitality in all its glory. African cuisine is a broad term, referring to the food of the world’s second-largest and second most-populous continent. This breadth is what C&W’s celebrates. Rather than being limited to regional specialties, this popular restaurant on Westgate St, beside Gloucester Cathedral, draws on favourite foods and cooking traditions from all over Africa. Ditch your knife and fork and enjoy authentic African food the way it’s meant to be - eaten with your hands in good company. Tuck into some barbecued lamb with mukimo (a delicious staple of peas and sweet root vegetables), a hot Ethiopian curry or some exotic vegetarian dishes, maybe some cassava chips or fried plantains to help you along, and an exquisite ginger and cinnamon donut or Tunisian orange cake to finish. You’ll quickly see why C&W’s African Experience Restaurant are so eager to share their proud culinary heritage in Westgate.
Amazing restaurant! Wonderful food! we thoughly enjoyed our date night :) Located in Gloucester City centre and your also able to take your own alcohol.
Great welcome from Charlie - who is passionate about his food! The meal was delicious - with a variety of different tastes from different African cuisines. It was really good to try out a new taste experience - pity we live so far away from Gloucester, otherwise we'd be regulars!
A warm welcome by the host and the food was served quickly., The portions were small and didn't really represent a main meal for hungry men. Unfortunately despite ordering in advance one of the meals was incorrect, but the cost of it was deducted at the end.
