Italians have made an enormous influence on Scottish cuisine over the years, from the pescado frito that became the fish supper to the pizza crunch, and their contribution shows no sign of ending. Their bread and butter – or bruschetta and olive oil, if you will – remains the family-friendly restaurant, and at Da Antonio on Campbell Street in Hamilton, they have an Italian that stands in the grand tradition. Antonio Tartaglia has been cooking in Glasgow since 1980, and he has brought all his experience to bear on the food at Da Antonio, with an Italian menu that takes in all the classics: antipasti, pastas, meat and fish dishes and a wide range of sides and cheeses. Wash it down with some selections from their extensive wine list and you’re well on your way to a great night out in Glasgow. Book a table now.
Quality of food was excellent a s always and service was first class. A lovely evening for or family visiting from Australia. Glad we chose Da Antonio
Our fav restaurant . Never lets us down. Great atmosphere, service and food.
Food was absolutely delightful. Staff are so very friendly and the meal was not rushed at all. Antonio was a great host. Would wholly recommend.
Truly is a lovely restaurant with amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. Nothing is ever a problem.
A fantastic experience at Da Antonio! Our welcome and service was friendly, the food was superb and we will definitely be making a return in the near future. The quality of the food was excellent with a wide variety of dishes and some outstanding specials such as the lobster ravioli and veal parmigiana. Superb restaurant with a nice relaxed feel and nothing is too much trouble. Loved it!
The meal was fantastic and well worth the price the staff were very professional and friendly but the icing on the cake was the fact that my wife and I were able to have a conversation without shouting at one another I am of the opinion that some restaurants are becoming far to noisy. I would have no hesitation in dining there again . Defiantly ten out of ten for the evening
We have been to Da Antonio's several times. Great service - attentive without being intrusive. We had a look at the Early Dinner menu but opted for the a la carte. Food was very tasty.
Although it was small, and very quiet, the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly, and the chef himself came to ask how our meal was. We were allowed to eat and enjoy our meal at our own pace, and the service and timing between courses was perfect. We will definately go back here,
Excellent and friendly service, with a nice balanced atmosphere, in a perfectly proportioned intimate setting. The food was authentic and first class. Obviously has its regulars, which tells you a lot. This will not be our only visit. Must add that the chef also took time out to talk to everyone. Nice touch.
A delightful little fmily run Restaurant above a bar . The food is well cooked and presented. No request was too much trouble for Antonio, who has time for each of his customers. The wine list is small but perfectly formed. A little treasure of a place , that we will rturn to
