Fabulous food and great service ! Due to its handy location it's perfect for a pre-theatre bite to eat. Visited with two young children and there was a good selection of children's favourites for them too as they weren't feeling particularly adventurous ! Staff also really lovely with them.

Love this place best restaurant in Sunderland .great food real friendly staff . We have been several times and will certainly be back again .you must give it a go!

Food and service were both excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience and everyone loved their meals. No complaints from any of us about any aspect.

Great food on offer. The mixed mezze platters to start were fantastic, full of flavour and variety. Lamb special wrap for main was excellent. The sauce inside made it! Only let down was the first pint of beer.

Had heard good things about this place and was not let down. The food was fantastic - every one of our party of four enjoyed it. I had the King Prawns to start and they were fantastic and then the Lamb Guvec for main which was just as good. Staff were cheerful and friendly. Will definitely be going back!

Very friendly and welcoming restaurant. The service was excellent and the food quality was also. With it being my first time at Efes I wasn't sure what to order so I'll be trying something different next time. It's a nice change from Indians

The food was really good, the cocktails amazing only issue was portion size was huge and we had no room left for their gorgeous looking desserts. I will eat here again.

Fab as always and excellent food and service! Made to feel very welcome and a nice Turkish atmosphere. They went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our food and had what we wanted and needed.

It was our first date and it went amazing food was exceptional much better than expected staff were very polite and helpful very welcoming needless to say I'll be going back very soon

Food was ok, atmosphere was ok, service was good but they tried to over charge us by a fair bit. Check your bill before paying

The customer service was exceptional. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. They have us complimentary Turkish bread which was delicious and asked how we were and what our plans were for the evening! They came over a few times to check if everything was OK and I noticed they were the same with the other customers in the restaurant and were lovely with the children who were with their parents. The food was lovely and arrived quickly. On the way out the staff shook our hands which I thought was fantastic!!

Eaten here several times, cannot fault the food as it was excellent, staff really friendly. Also Child friendly restaubut however can be a little slow with the drinks when busy.

Excellent service from all staff from start to finish, food was amazing we were a large group who ordered many different meals and not one person was dissatisfied. Will be going back very soon! they even sang me the best happy birthday song when they found out it was my birthday!

Food was great. We tried the mixed starters followed by a keltiko and a mixed grill. A Turkish red was recommended to us and it was a nice choice. Would visit again if we're in the area.

Food delicious. No complaints about food. Ignored most of the night for bigger tables. Obviously the chance of bigger tips. Still waiting for the bread we ordered and we weren't even asked if we would like deserts. Disappointed as I love the food but won't return

The food was amazing. We had a mixed hot starter as we couldn't decide on a starter and I can say everything was delicious. Mains were delicious too my partner had a mixed grill which was huge and he loved it all. Staff were lovely. Definitely recommend it to anyone and I will be going back!

This is the second time I've visited this restaurant and will definitely be going back again!! We ordered from the lunch time special and it was delicious, and being able to have 2 starters meant I could try something different. The meals were beautifully presented and really good size portions. The waitress was very attentive and polite. Love this restaurant

Fantastic meal and great service ,the only fault was the price of efes at £4.50 a bottle .we paid £2.85 at the cooper rose .

Very good ambiance and decoration. Very friendly staff without being intrusive. Good choice of food which was very tasty and beautifully cooked. I had a glass of the Turkish red wine which was very nice. My friend and I opted for a main and a dessert each but the staff member serving us dropped off a basket of Turkish bread and some dips which were lovely and we couldn't resist eating it all up! We had Turkish coffee which was tasty but had quite a lot of "sludge" half way down the cup and the only other drawback is that, on a cold, wet, miserable night, there was a cold draft blowing on us from somewhere otherwise I would have given this full marks. Definitely planning a return visit!

The good was lovely. I had the lamb kleftico &it fell off the bone it was that tender. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed what we got.the staff are really friendly. Would definitely go back.

Lovely time at Efes in Sunderland. Chose from the happy hour menu again and the starters were lovely followed by the moussaka. lovely to see Ahmet and the staff again (really friendly). Cant wait to come again

Amazing food and service! I highly recommend this restaurant, if your looking for something a bit different and something that is super tasty you should definitely try this restaurant.

Lovely food and service as always, with Turkish music and decor. I am a regular. The owner is nearly always there and gives you a warm welcome, ensuring you have a good meal.
