This was our second visit to this restaurant and the food was wonderful! the service was very good and the staff were exceptionally attentive. We liked the fact we were remembered from the first time. We will definitely be visiting again. We tell everyone about our experience as good consistent eating places are hard to find.

Ive tried alot of chinese restaurants and takeaways and this has to be the best by far! It even had a baby changing room !

The food and service were brilliant, will defiantly go back when I am in the Stafford area. It was a Tuesday night so we were the only table in there but the take away side of the business was very busy

Awful service!! We were a party of 20 who pre ordered food 10 days before our New Year’s Eve dinner. We arrived at 7 and had still not been served the mains by 9, service was very slow; one diner sent the spring rolls back as they were not up to the usual standard and tasted horrible, one found a very hard, rock like substance in his main dish. We had to keep prompting to be served and when the coffee eventually arrived it was luke warm. The management did not seem to care about customer service- we did feel sorry for the waiting staff who seemed to be trying their best but were just over run with the numbers of diners. 10% was taken off our bill but unfortunately this was no where near what was required for the awful night we had- a sincere apology would have paid great dividends!

Had a meal there New Year’s Eve although they were very busy nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very pleasant food was excellent as always

The Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, service was very good and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice relaxing evening.

6 of the faimly went and had a lovely meal in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere will definitely be going again. Lazy Suzie was great.

Food is average We were a table of 4 sat between 2 larger louder tables (Not thought out was it) Very slow and hostile service by young adults who clearly had no training we won't be returning

I’ve been to he orient a few times ghe staff are good, wheh iys bisu they struggle The food is really nice I like the lamb dish but on the last few times I’ve ordered they bring beef???

Nice food, however phone didn’t stop ringing for the two hours we were there. Long wait but was to be expected on a Saturday night.

My daughter and her friends had a lovely meal to celebrate her birthday. The surprise pudding complete with sparklers really made her day. Great food and friendly staff. Couldn’t ask for more 😊

Just everything you could wish for, kind friendly very good service all round . We found it very inviting comfortable and pleasent surroundings, and let me tell everyone the food was out of this world well presented and plenty of it so I say I would recommend the Essence of the Orient to anyone especially if you have a Birthday coming up. Very good indeed. Also if you just fancy a takeaway they cater for that also with their purpose counter and waiting area at the front. Super evening will be going again soon. Thank you.

Very good meal not very often we rate high but would certainly give the food 10 out of 10. Service also good considering they had a big party in and we were a party of 2.

This is the thrift time here. The first time the restaurant was manic and the food was a wait but worth it. The last time we went we had a range of food and 10/10. I decided to have lamb in garlic. I actually got beef in garlic. Same price as nice but there were only 5 takes being served this time. And I know we had some cold weather but he restaurant was freezing I’ll give it a miss for a while and maybe try out a few more restaurants

Terrible service from the off, no one at the front desk to greet you on your arrival to the restaurant. We were pointed to our table, not shown, even though we were the only people in the restaurant at the beginning of the evening. Waiter tipped a drink over me as he could not hold the tray of drinks. He apologised, which was nice but there was no gesture in regards to the bill for the bad service. Took us ages to get the attention of the waiting staff, in order to request and pay the bill. Overall, I would recommend that you stay well clear of this restaurant. They need to hire some better staff, who will actually give you a pleasant experience.

Love this place ... been a few time now and eaten in. Need to try the take out too. Fantastic food

Very nice meal. Good service and friendly staff. Would certainly return. The restaurant had a refurbishment a few years back and is still very clean and tidy.

We have been coming here for years.The service has always been ok in the past and the food delicious. I felt that on our recent visit that the food was too cold and not piping hot like before so the sauces had gone thick almost like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for ages and service was a very slow. We will be back and hope that the food is better next time:)

Loved this place. One of the best venues for Chinese food ever. The food was really nice presented well and tasted amazing. The service in reception is a little slow to be seated. I will deffo be back

Not a lot of choice in the menu. Just one waitress. No atmosphere. Food was ok but I won't be going back. Expensive for what we received.

Came here for a birthday celebration. Booked the table online and very quickly received a text message confirmation from the restaurant which was a nice touch. The service was great, staff were friendly. I love the food here, and everyone in the party was very happy and enjoyed the meal. Definitely recommend.
