All evening, from Sunday to Thursday, Fat Mommas rolls out her great value two-course menu covering Mediterranean starters, mains, Italian pasta and pizza. Lightly battered mushrooms (go easy, Fat Momma!) with garlic mayo and a garnish of salad segue smoothly into mushroom stroganoff or pork loin steak. Leave Birkenhead behind for Italy with pasta dishes like Momma’s chicken penne or the chicken alfredo, or tuck into pizzas that are the betters of any pizzeria over the Mersey in Liverpool.
A la carte dining is well-catered to here as well, with Fat Mommas’ daily menu about as hefty as momma’s rolling pin. Again drawing on the diverse culinary traditions of the Mediterranean nations, Fat Mommas does a good line in sunkissed cuisine. That said, many Birkenhead locals like to drop by this bistro down Storeton Road for a simple espresso and a slice of cake, but always keep your eyes peeled for the specials, chalked up regularly on the boards.
