Best restaurant in Southport 10 out of 10 for presentation quality and quantity of food staff very attentive nothing too much trouble will be back next time we visit Southport and would highly recommend.

Good atmosphere, great food well served. Well worth a visit! We took advantage of the 'early doors' menu which was exceptional value for money. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

The best hidden gem in Southport. The food is prepared fresh by the wonderful chefs and served by attentive, smiling staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Good wine, good food all at a reasonable price and great atmosphere what more could anyone ask for

Excellent. Food and service were first class. All four of us enjoyed starters, main dishes and coffee. We will return for more of the same.

Good food, good service, fresh oysters and steaks, fish and chips very good. Decor a bit old fashioned but friendly service. Would recommend, for good unfussy food.

Really enjoyed our meal, very helpful waiter, lovely food, lots of choice, really nice decor inside restaurant, was empty when we got there at 5.30pm but got busy really fast! Thank goodness for Quandoo!

Inside looks dated and needs some updating. Staff need to check on customers more often as I had to get up multiple times to seek assistance and to pay. That aside food is lovely but portions are a unreasonabley small.

Good atmosphere, food was excellent and service was prompt. Friendly staff were very attentive. A busy night but all went well. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Food and service was excellent a must for anyone who loves seafood. Good size portions will definitely be visiting the forge again soon ten out of ten.

Superb food and even better staff! I can't recommend this restaurant enough, a hidden gem in the centre of southport. We had a fabulous evening.

As usual, the food was excellent as was the service, always a pleasure to eat at The Forge in Southport, the best in town by a mile!

Foods is good at the values, nice and friendly staffs, service good. I have good time there. I agree booking a table advise. Location not far away from railway station.

Delicious food, welcoming and attentive staff and a sensibly priced comprehensive wine list. Excellent menu catering for all tastes, and no pressure to choose anything you don't want or need. If you like a pudding wine I can recommend the red one - with the Brioche Bread and Butter Pudding.

Stunning food and excellent service having been for the third time we're just sorry we didn't find this gem sooner we will be back soon

Fab meal great service, prices good. Would highly recommend esp if you like your seafood. You don't feel rushed or pressured on ordering or getting off your table.

Very little to say. The food and service was excellent. The Evening went as planed right from the first mouthful. My only criticism was it can get a little crowded and there's not much room between tables, but overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening, one that we will be repeating.

I don't want any recognition or points for acknowledging what was a wonderful dining experience and pleasurable experience, thank you, you made us feel welcome and unhurried for a special dining experience.

A good restaurant with a varied menu and a great atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend trying this restaurant if you are in Southport. Will certainly use it on our next trip.

Lovely meal, excellent caesar salad starter and bread and butter put looked yummy. Staff efficient when one main not available, giving nearest alternative. Interesting Japanese whiskey.

Good choice of lunch menu for a very good price

Fillet steak with a cheese, grain mustard and black pepper topping, utterly awesome. Melt in the mouth food with Eton mess dessert to finish. Divine.

food and service exellent nice ambience La Forge was well situated and reminded me of a lovely continental hotel that I stayed in near Granada southern Spain.Pleasant experience.

Didn't know what to expect but on arrival was pleasantly surprised.There was plenty of choice on the menu I had the t-bone steak which was great and my wife had the lamb shank which she thoroughly enjoyed.Good service from friendly staff I would not hesitate in recommending the forge!!

Lovely place, very relaxed rustic interior. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good choice on the menu, everything we had was delicious. Clam chowder highly recommended for starter. Good selection of alcohol-free beer and cider.

Excellent food and very good service. We had the seafood daily special which was outstanding (IoM scallops and Hake) - would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Southport

Absolute, top class, from entering, to the table service the meal was an absolute delight as always. I had mussels, co pot pie, followed by cheesecake and all were adorable. So here's to many more visits

Quaint little restaurant also tables upstairs, staff are lovely, nice easy going atmosphere. I ordered chicken skewers for starters they was very tasty but hardly anything there , husband got the fish cakes they was a substantial portion. Mains was lamb shank and chicken supreme both were OK next time I would try the steak , also I thought the sides was a little over priced £2.50 each for tiny portion so the bill quickly adds up. I finished with a brandy Alexandra cocktail but was disappointed not really a cocktail no nice glass ect . Having said all that I would recommend ,nice restaurant, nice staff tasty food .

The food was lovely could not fault it whatsoever, also the waiting staff could not have been more helpful. However I think it was the owner we spoke to one arrival and he had no idea what I was talking about when I said I had a reservation that I had booked on line, so they did not have a record of it. Luckily there was not a problem getting a table as it was an early booking. The person we spoke to on arrival at the Forge needs some training on customer service as his attitude was condescending to say the least.
