Fort Raj

Lovely food, quick service. Ate early in the evening but it was still busy. A lot to choose from on the menu to suit all tastes.

I have eaten at Fort Raj for many years even pre name change and I have never had a bad experience. Although I have eaten at many Indian restaurants around the world and on cruise ships, Fort Raj cook their food completely different to any others. Fantastic restaurant.

This was not our first visit, can't count the number of times we have been but this is hands down one of the best restaurants we have ever been too. The staff are very attentive and courteous, always on hand when you need them. The food is the main reason we keep coming back though. It is always to a high standard and fantastic quality with amazing flavours!

The food was amazing. Providing the perfect balance between heat (spice) and taste. The naan breads are the best I've ever tasted and I will not hesitate to return

Excellent food and service. Atmosphere was warm and friendly and beer cold. This is a more expensive option when selecting a curry restaurant but it does deliver on taste, choice and flavour. Well worth a visit

Fort Raj were very welcoming. The menu had different choices as well as traditional options expected at an Indian restaurant and our meal was excellent.

Our last visit to this restaurant was fine the food was very good, however this visit we found the food not as desirable as previous. The sauces very very watery and not appealing.

Superb food, excellent service. Sadly due to all the hard surfaces, table tops floor, ceiling and walls, when busy it's difficult to hear conversation. When you're hard if heari?. Hearing aids cannot adjust to the noise levels. A carpet or a couple of sound baffling panels might help!

As always, the best curry in town! Good space between the tables, the takeaway customers have a proper waiting area, prompt service and not over attentive waiting.

We had a deal for a classic curry, a rice or naan dish and glass of wine, lager or soft drink. We were greeted warmly and looked after well. My husband and I shared a goats cheese and spinach samosa which we enjoyed. There was a choice of two prawn curries - I do not eat meat or chicken ) and I choose the Goan curry which was excellent.

Superb fresh and tasty food and good atmosphere. Great service too. Very popular restaurant in the area of penn hill. Will definitely return again soon.

A quiet Sunday night but service slow .. we had to ask to give our orders .. staff were very friendly and polite though .. food was delicious ... delicate and full of flavor .. ordered three coffees at the end but after quite a delay only 2 arrived .. overall a nice evening and we will definitely return ...

Good food and competent service. Comprehensive range of dishes on the menu. Response to query about gluten content in poppadums was resolved. The restaurant was only about a third full, nonetheless there was a good ambience.

Restaurant has a nice ambience, staff are extremely friendly and attentative. The menu is relatively extensive with the quality of food very good. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Great food, amazing, fast service, quick and served hot. Even if your fussy like me they cater to what you need and want and the staff are super friendly and just generally a lovely atmosphere.

Food is great and service very friendly, as always. Specialities are awesome, Lamb Labador, Biryani, Shashlick, Lucknow Lamb Rogan Josh, Onion Bhakti, Lamb Shank etc

Great Indian food with fresh ingredients. My favourite in this area certainly the best naan bread and my favourite is the Pathia. Always consistent and service is friendly.

We were pleased to find out that the restaurant had reopened at Penn Hill. It continues to provide a high standard of Indian cuisine which we had enjoyed in the past.

Varied menu of modern dishes plus a traditional selection. My seafood curry was delicious, loads of squid mussels and prawns, and we all enjoyed what we had chosen. Friendly staff too.

Very good food and service , this is not your typical Indian restaurant. Well worth a visit and I would say you would no be disappointed.

The food as ever was excellent and I thoroughly recommend it. We had the sharing starter which was good and then shared two main meals with the nan basket. If anything we ordered too much.

This was the 2nd time I have eaten at Fort Raj and it was as good as the 1st time, a fantastic menu with some variation on the standard menu's which as a curry lover is always good to see. Great service while still discrete Will be back again
