Not too far from Hillsborough Park in the Crookes area of Sheffield, you can take a journey that may mirror those of ancient Mughal traders through Central Asia. Well, maybe not, but walking along Langsett Road will at least yield similar results as you stumble upon the Central Asian- and Mughal-inspired food at Front Room, one of Sheffield’s favourite Indian restaurants. The interior is elegant and inviting, mixing traditional ornamentation with modern comfort, and the skill and passion that has driven Front Room’s head chef and owner to over 40 years of combined experience in professional Indian restaurants is plain to see in the superb dishes presented to you at Front Room: classic biryani or tandoori treats, typical Indian starters (like minced lamb and cheese naan) or not so familiar ones (try the chicken liver puri, containing lightly spiced chicken liver encased in a wafery light dough shell) and particular house specials like Front Room’s famous Arabian lamb.
The food was amazing. One of, if not the best food I’ve ever had in an Indian restauramt. The service was fantastic too. We had to wait for our table, which we didn’t mind or complain about but the guy gave us a round of drinks for the inconvenience. If you haven’t been then you are missing out.
Lovely food one of the best in Sheffield really nice staff and atmosphere very friendly and welcoming been several times and would recommend to anyone
