Gatti's - City Point

The service was incredible, the food was even better. Our waiter was attentive and everything was cooked to perfection. If you want value for money but want to eat at somewhere nice then this restaurant is perfect.

Food was ok. Wine was poor quality and well overpriced. Overall value for money poor. Service; after 20 years in this industry, was quite the worst I’ve seen in some considerable time. Five front of house staff, four tables occupied 3x twos and a ten, only the manager able/ allowed to take orders. Other tables had to wait whilst he spent an inordinate length of time chatting and taking the order from one group x10. Quite inexcusable no apology - he was “doing his best” well frankly it’s not good enough and we were charged a cover charge of £3 per person. Long walk from door to dining room which is in the basement; no windows, drab and dreary. Decor is 1960’s banqueting. Two courses; starter and pasta each, bottle of house wine, bill £77 To be avoided! Have never given a negative review before. My general rule is if it’s bad say nothing and vote with my feet but this was beyond belief.

The restaurant is smart and inviting, the staff were attentive, unrushed and professional this with the excellent food made for a very pleasant lunchtime meal

Good location for pre-concert dinner at Barbican Centre. Quick service and friendly arrangement for pre-concert dinner. Good food and good wines. Accomodetion is also good.

Super good steak, but prawn starter was expensive and over cooked. Always having to look for staff. Was offered a steak knife that never came even after asking for it once more. Thankfully the steak was so soft it was not needed which I did think was reasonable value

Food very average. No atmosphere downstairs as it was so big and only a few people. Waitress was very nice and helpful. Male waiter was the opposite! Won't go back as there are much better italian restaurants around.

Overpriced food where the lack of quality product is obvious. You can always tell the quality of meat vs the price and that was telling whilst the service was lacking given they didn't even realise one of the items ordered was not provided.

One of my favourite restaurants. Very friendly staff. Great service. Wonderful food. Huge portions. Keep saying I need to try other restaurants but find myself always returning!

Excellent food, wine and service. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Large prawns in lobster broth to start followed by spaghetti vongole. My friend had the mixed fish grill. All washed down with an excellent bottle of French rose. I will recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Perfect for a quiet business lunch. Excellent choice of dishes on the extensive menu.

The Food was great. Good size portions. Really delicious and plenty of choice. Shame the place was empty at 12noon on a week day. Quite pricey.

Best restaurant in the square mile, great wine and service. Staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommend the steak and pasta. Dessert trolley is unbelievable and is a great way to finish off.

Nice food. It they ran out of 2 of the house white wines, bill was also expensive (£60) for 2 pasta's (Arrabiata) and 3 glasses of wine.

The food was excellent and probably worthy of a higher score. The waiter who initially served at our table was also excellent with a good sense of humour which enhanced our experience. However the waiter who initially met us in the bar and then joined the first waiter in the restaurant should have scored very low. He did not ascertain what we wanted, kept us waiting and was impatient with us. He was the one element of the evening which spoiled the overall experience.

Excellent location. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The service was great and the food was lovely. I will definitely visit Gatti's again soon!

Great service, fantastic grilled cod on a bed of potatoes! Staff was really friendly and the ambience was great for big groups. Perhaps only downside was that the place is underground.

This was the first occasion that we had visited the restaurant in its new location. It has been a favourite of ours over the years and the cooking and atmosphere lived up to our expectations. Very enjoyable.

Lovely food, but the place was not very busy so the staff were very attentive but overall slightly lacking atmosphere due to being very quiet.

Fantastic restaurant, very good menu and excellent wine list. Great atmosphere and very attentive members of staff. 12 of us had a long lunch and we were the last to leave but we were not rushed or was anything to much trouble. We will most definitely be returning

the food and service were nice but the restaurant itself is now in a basement room, it is like you are just in a large room, the old premises were lovely on two levels, cozy, how you would expect an excellent Italian to be. It is a shame as I don't know if I would go again as the surroundings let it down. My Steak and Sole was cooked well but you would think they would make make their own chips these were pre cut and not to the level you would expect of this restaurant, otherwise very nice.

Superb food and service. Highly recommended. Reminded me of the good old days and was a wonderful change to the characterless chains people insist on using. Will return.

The menu is rich in options, the food is great and served in a timely manner. Service and Staff are impeccable. I highly recommend it.

The food was excellent but the service distracted. The maitre d' broke off from taking our order to take a long phone call, then forgot to bring the wine. This despite the fact that the large restaurant was almost empty.

Fantastic service. Lovely venue. Prosecco is unlimited. The food was very good and they are huge portions! I would definitely recommend this venue. The deals they have are very good.

The restaurant staff were really great and attentive and we found the dessert dish Tiramisu to be really very delicious I would recommend this place.

Fabulous meal. The service was more attentive than I have ever experienced before, and it really made the night. The beef steak fell apart in my mouth - I never wanted it to end! Would recommend it over and over.

A really nice place just in the heart of the City, the ideal site where to spend a relaxing lunch break. Professional and friendly service, they make you feel comfortable and cuddled. There is a large choice of meat and fish dishes,; I highly recommend the Lobster Linguine, absolutely fresh and really tasty. Last but not least, a super dessert: chocolate mousse with raspberries, ideal to make you day sweeter.

I had the pleasure to have lunch in this wonderful restaurant a few days ago. I am italian so when I go to an italian restaurant abroad I absutely don't want to be disappointed. Well, I have to say that the food was amazing: the Prusciutto Di Parma with freshly baked bread as starter was delicious (you could really tell that it was of good quality) and my Scottish steak with fries and pepper was amazing as well. The service has been excellent : the team is always happy to suggest and meet your requests. I would recommend to taste the "mascarpone, chocolate and raspberry mousse" as dessert with a real italian caffè macchiato.

Italian place, you would expect the pasta to be perfect. I ordered spaghetti bolonaise, I got spaghetti bolonaise with no taste, loads of spaghetti but not enough sauce...disappointed

great ambience and fantastic service. food was delicious and amazing, great veggie options. will definitely be going back. Music suited the mood and wasn't too loud.
