Great food and drink as always - felt slightly rushed at times

Overall a decent night with fine food and wine......after a disastrous start!! Shown to table early so far so good! Tried to order some pre-dinner drinks and ordered a suitable bottle. Waited 10 minutes, waiter arrived and started to uncork. Just about to pour when a shout from behind indicated he was serving the wrong table. Waiter disappeared and came back to apologise he was serving wrong table and went away again. 10 minutes later he arrived back with open wine menu to say our selection was out of stock. At this point I vented my frustration that I’d received better service in Weatherspoons without the £100+ per head price tag. He apologised and went away sheepishly. Another waiter arrived clearly a replacement and evening started to get better and we were well attended to eventually!!. First time at City branch following regular attendance at Mayfair and I would probably go back....just.. We were a family party and just had a feeling that we were slightly looked down upon in comparison to the City types with big expense budgets who usually frequent this restaurant. Overall food was great as usual with fine Beef and great quality sides and G is still my favourite London steak restaurant. Not sure one £7 free dessert was adequate compensation for a bill that came to nearly £450 for four???

Great service. Waiting staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Explained the steak options excellently. Steaks were cooked well and tender. Ignorance on my part that circa half the steaks were from America. US providence for me is unnecessary airmiles when we have such great beef close to home. A very minor note is the bench I was seated on had lost its springs so was a bit low. Overall great food and evening.

Very average quality meat, had better from supermarkets. £116 for a 950g chateaubriand!! Wouldn’t revisit

I asked for a prime cut (rib eye) no more done than medium rare. The cut was poor as it was only 1/2 that was medium rare, a 1/4 was medium and the rest was well done

Food was good, tasty and fresh. Our server was very friendly. We went on a saturday and it's kind of a quiet night for them being in the city.

An altogether excellent experience. Incredible meat great wine (primativo was excellent for the price) if I’m struggling to find a complaint maybe slightly too much crushed ice in my Mojito... exactly , scratching for something. Great meal and highly recommend. Bone in Rib (Hereford) and USDA Porterhouse both 800g shares between 3 (includes one hungry American)
