The restaurant was nearly empty but I had to wait for the menu and waitress. The Guinness was good (and a lot of places it isn’t) The chips were good. I found the burger texture too ‘tight’. I will try it again, but need it to be better. I go to a lot of places round here and at present I’d give it 6.5 out of 10

It's was an ok place. It was expensive. Waited a while for someone to take drinks and food order even thought it was very quiet in there. Chicken was dry. They ran out of broccoli. Overall it's just ok and we won't be back in a hurry.

On arrival we were welcomed and invited to choose where we wanted to sit. After that, despite very few other guests, the service was slow. Several dishes were off , awaiting delivery the next day, Tuesday..The quality of the food was a bit disappointing. Maybe we will try again, but not on a Monday lunchtime.

Not good!!! 2 new starters beef in filo, came out on a bed of grease and were tasteless!! My husband had stifado and ordered chips, which came out when he had very nearly finished his stiffado. I ordered a martini And lemonade, i had to send first one back As it was disgusting. The second one came out, which i could drink, but no way Was it normal dry martini!!

Mains were delicious but disappointed that there were no desserts suitable for those with a lactose intolerance except sorbet. A daiy-free/vegan ice-cream option would have been nice.

We booked a Satuday night for a 21st Birthday - the food was amazing as was the service, they had set up a lovely corner table with a 21st balloon which was a nie touch. The restaurant was quiet and although that was great for our party, did leave the atmosphere a bitlacking. Cannot fault the service & food however!

Good ambiance, good selection in food and drinks menus. Quality of food good though would have liked all main courses to be served at same time. Fruit crumble tasty but serving crumble as the base ,meant it wasn't crisp/crunchy. Husband especially liked pie of the day and brother in law the liver.

What a pleasurable visit! The welcome was really warm and friendly! The menu choice hit the spot with some different offerings! You have to visit to get the full works! The food from the starters I chose to the steak (cooked to perfection) and the innovative crumble desert ! were taste bud delicious! Book… go….. Enjoy.

Was very quiet at the venue, warm welcome from waiting staff. Lots of parking. Decent breakfast, cooked well and refillable coffee was freshly made.

Terrible experience, will not be returning. The roast was inedible. Apparently margarine is butter to the staff and kitchen, and that roast beef should be roasted, cut, and then reheated on the grill to give a charcoal taste, accompanied with a mint sauce. The manager was arrogant, rude and totally condescending. We were told 'a little bit of gluten will be fine' when requesting a gluten-free meal for my 89-year old coeliac grandmother. A ribeye steak came as three separate cuts of beef. It was actually shocking how bad the food was. The manager is atrocious. The only positive were the wait staff who were friendly and attentive.

First time at HK, steak not quite cooked to our understanding of medium, staff were very attentive and keen to rectify this. Steak special nights good value for money compared to typical steak prices at pubs etc locally

I am happy to pay the discretionary service charge on the food but I believe it is wrong to charge twelve and a half per cent on your drinks bill if you have a tab! Disappointed!!

The restaurant was very quiet, possibly as it was Monday. However, service, food and wine was excellent - a good choice of both. Downside: very minor in that there were no olives available; we had Prosecco and they would have been a great accompaniment. Will definitely go there again. thank you.

So we arrived 30 minutes early, and was given the option of retiring to the bar or proceeding with the table, 👌 Table wise, very intimate, good lighting and decoure, however the our particular table was rather sticky which I can only say must have been from the cleaning products they use. Service wise, the waitress was a delight and skilled at said profession. FOOD: starters we had baked camenbert and sourdough bread with bone marrow butter..... absolutely spot on 💯👌 Mains we both had 8oz Ribeye cooked to perfection ginormous onion rings lush chips ect ect...... absolutely gorgeous. DRINKS: highly recommend the whisky sour .we will be back

Booked for Christmas day lunch, seven people at £95pp, paid for in full in advance. Menu choices also had to be submitted 10 days in advance. We did not receive our prosecco on arrival but were seated fairly quickly. We asked for our prosecco and ordered drinks and wine. Our first courses were served, followed by our prosecco, but without glasses so we poured it ourselves into the wine glasses on the table. When our plates were cleared we again requested the wine we had ordered. Over an hour and 20 minutes later our sorbet arrived. No wine, so we asked again. When the main courses arrived about 40 minutes later almost all of them were cold and the vegetables randomly served. Some of us had no potatoes, sprouts varied from one to four. Still no wine. We waited a long time for our puddings which surprisingly were all good! There were very few staff, all very young and seemingly inexperienced and the manager came near our table once but no apology was given for the chaos. I saw him standing in a corridor but as I approached him he rushed away. We never did get our wine. One of our party is in a wheelchair and the intention was to have our meal and then spend time with her at home. As it was we only just made it back in time for her carer. A ruined day.

We came as a group of 13 for our team Christmas meal. The service was excellent and we didn't have to wait long between each course. The food was absolutely amazing with good portion sizes even with it being lunchtime. We were sat in the conservatory and they even put heaters in there before we arrived. Everyone had good words to say about the meal. We would definitely like to come back again.

Food was ok, nothing special. Service was very slow, so slow we decided not to wait any longer for them to take our dessert and another drink order. It wasn’t as if the place was packed. Got our bill wrong and then tried to charge 12.5% service charge for just 2 of us dining.

Overall a good experience and service was generally ok although was a slow start - sitting there for a good 10 minutes before drinks were offered. The waitress was very nice but obviously hadn't got a clue about the menu and was unsure on how to use the tablet - a lot of umming and ahhhring as she looked around the tablet for the right choices. We assumed she was new so no real issue but always nice to have serving staff that actually know the food and some idea of the wines on the wine list without having to look at the menu to confirm what you want. Also if your guests order steaks, you kind of expect the server to know you will need a steak knife and not have to wait for the steaks to arrive to then ask for one. Food itself was pretty good although the steaks were a bit bland, certainly the ribeye was very bland - no real flavour at all. All other food was really good so no complaints there but I think chef needs a bit more experience on steaks before you call yourself a steak house. Overall a nice evening and it would not put me off going again but I might avoid the steak next time especially at premium prices.
