Nice little place in Fitzrovia, very friendly staff. Had the Herman Style currywurst, monster size, mild heat. Was very filling, would not have gone hotter. Food was ready in mintues. Would very much recommend.

Staff were brilliant and welcoming, lovely clean enviroment. However the food was a let down, cold hotdogs and very over cooked chips - not good

Service was slow. Had to get up and ask for service. Food was average. Supposed to be hot but no spice at all. Over priced for a sausage and chips. Restaurant was also cold and they could do with turning up the heating. It was just OK. Would I go back - no.

I picked this place as it was a bit different for a group night out. The food certainly didn’t disappoint, great selection of sausages and gluten free for me! My only complaint is that there were not enough staff and the service was a bit slow. However it wouldn’t stop me going again.

really lovely staff and great authentic german food and drink! I was so happy to find Fritz Mate in London, and curry wurst that tastes like it's straight from Berlin

Loved it, best vegan sausage in London. The beer is also excellent (and at £5 a pint, not too pricey for a central London restaurant). If you're looking for somewhere casual to have a laugh with a few friends, this is the place!

Good sausage. Good beer. Good portions. Fair price. Only problem was that they brought the food out slightly before the drinks, but that was due to them being so speedy with our order so I can't whinge too much about that.

Great little lunch place with authentic tasting wurst. The steins of beer looked enticing - will have to come back when I don't have to go to work afterwards.

Great atmosphere and excellent selection of German draft beer - impressed they now have Schneider Weisse Tap 1 and 2 available. The best wurst outside of Munich!

Great that you can book tables downstairs...more of a "Bierkeller" atmosphere and everyone enjoyed the Currywurst and beer! Best Currywurst....and not just in town! Try the Schnitzel as well.

Authentic, relaxed, good beer - a real German gem. This is now one of our regular supper places as it's increasingly difficult to find reasonably priced food that is not from a chain. Herman - please don't change a thing - but maybe add some cake and potato pancakes with applesauce!

Lovely food however bar staff were very very slow. This was due to being a small restaurant and very busy. Otherwise very good food and value!

They didn't have a table ready when we arrived and there were no free tables. The staff knew nothing of the reservation so we had to get takeaway instead.

I just love Herman Ze German. This was my first trip to the Charlotte Street one, but have been many times to the Soho one. If you just want a decent German Sausage and a beer Herman Ze German is the place to go. :-)

Sausages and beer great as usual and good marks for atmosphere and staff. Only downside was that they seemed to have run out of usual rolls and served wurst in part-baked supermarket rolls which ruined the otherwise great sausage. Probably worth stating that this is the case when you order as would have happily changed our order.

Food was excellent. Steins of German lager were excellent. Staff helpfulness was excellent. Our group's only comment was the soundtrack: if you are going to play the German card this strongly in the menu and decor, play it the whole way. We don't expect to hear The XX or George Michael with our Bockwurst, we want The Scorpions, Opus, Kraftwerk, Nena (German version, naturally), krautrock and lots of hair metal.

Although a little expensive, this restaurant is great if you are craving real German wurst and beer. The staff is very friendly and service is extremely fast.

Quick service - very tasty meal! No concerns about bill splitting for a group of 12, with everyone ordering and paying for their own!
