Judging by the food that gets dished up, whoever is running the kitchen at Il Gusto D’Italia has a very firm grip on time-honoured Italian cooking traditions. What elevates this cosy eatery above the norm in Greater Manchester, though, is that you feel the front-of-house staff are just as passionate as the cooks, and it’s definitely a place where service goes the extra mile. Found right on Washway Road in Sale, Il Gusto D’Italia offers a mouthwatering spread of hot and cold antipasti, pasta, pizza, steak, seafood, vegetarian meals and desserts, not to mention superb Italian coffee. If you need a helping hand, we recommend navigating the menu through, for example, cozze gratinate (oven-baked mussels with bread crumbs, garlic and olive oil) with a fresh salad to start off, then a creamy gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts, a prime fillet steak cooked in barolo wine, before squeezing in a refreshing panna cotta to finish off.
Had a fantastic pizza and the wine was great. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Would recommend and will visit again. Reasonably priced and good choice
