Imperial Restaurant & Lounge Bar OLD

We eat here on a regular basis and it's normally great. On this occasion we were really disappointed with the service. The restaurant was not full and the staff were not at all attentive. We spent a considerable amount of money as it was a family celebration but we didn't even get a goodbye from anyone, they seem to just look through us as we left. Staff were disengaged, uninterested and we had to get up from the table to ask them for drinks etc as they were just staring into space leaning against the wall daydreaming. Not good

We received a very warm welcome and very good service. Excellent food, in both quality and cooking. Stylish setting and decor. Could not fault anything about our experience.

Fantastic food and great ambience. Prices are reasonable given the quality of food. Service was quick and the staff are very polite and respectful. Highly recommended.

Ambience and setting were great. You were never felt that you were being rushed. Food was good and arrived promptly. Would recommend this restaurants if you have a large group, also loads of parking space.

It was really wonderful. Good authentic food reasonably priced. Good friendly and flexible staff. People visiting the adjacent airport museum walk in as if this is a part of the museum. Needs attention

Imperial lounge has a really good ambience. Booking was easy via Quandoo & we were seated promptly. Service was good but since it wasn't busy, it could have been better. Chinese food was excellent (Sechuan chicken, spring rolls, egg fried rice) & some Indian dishes were amazing ( aloo papri, lamb chops, chicken). However saag gosht was disappointing. Desserts were good but it did not seem that they were prepared from scratch in their kitchen ( kulfi, sticky toffee pudding). Mint tea was really good. A low rating also reflects the condition of the toilet facilities. Overall, a good experience which could be improved by better service & facilities, improving some of the dishes & maybe introducing some desserts made on the premises.

The venue is lovely & the female waitress we had was very nice, friendly & accommodating, however the the food was average& male waiter made us feel unwelcome, so overall for our first experience very disappointing, plus every expensive.

Great ambience and delicious food - we ordered the chinese cusine. Good portions - spice levels a bit on the higher side. Good portions. Service was a bit slow because of the Easter holidays

Food feels stale..as if from previous day's leftover.could do better. Lunches probably from previous day..dinner are probably better.could have asked for opinion immediately after lunch.

Lovely dinning room with stylish decor. Wide menu choice. Super tasty, freshly prepared food using the best ingredients. Friendly and efficient staff. Wonderful place for all occasions.

Very rude waitress, no clue on customer service! Asked a guy clearing who was clearing our table for drinks, he said sorry i cant take drink orders? I will send a waitress over waited over 15 minutes, then she came over after complaining her answer was oh well he never told me!!

Seems like the chef has changed. The quality of food has degraded drastically. I literally ended up eating raw chicken today. The food was too much oily. It was my favourite restaurant in Croydon but not anymore now.

Service is excellent food is brilliant very tasty. I will give 5 stars and i have recommended to my friends group .it was fantastic experience

Food the ambience was excellent. However. Dispite having few staff we had to wait for service and they either got the thing twice (which we did not have to pay for it) or did not get served. We asked three different people for black coffee each time we were told it is coming. The whole table got served except the black coffee. When asked the order taker he said we did not ordered it so why the other three said it is coming.... My friend wanted to know about hiring out the venue for function and she was told again by the same person that the manager will come and see you. And yet he did not she had to go and ask at the receiption....so lots of talk but no action.

The staff are nice and polite. Only thing is the length of time food takes to reach the table. More of Indian than both Indian and chinese

Amazing ambience and good food. Service can be slow at times. Would surely recommend anyone who wants to have authentic Indian food with a modern twist.

The food and the ambience at Imperial restaurant is of a very high standard. Service levels are good and the staff are very attentive. Imperial is probably the best Indian restaurant in Croydon.

excellent food. Spacious surroundings so even though the place was full it didnt feel like it was. Service is attentive. I would recommend a visit.

Very child friendly - children aged 2 and 4 enjoyed their chicken and rice dish. Excellent variety of starters and main - tasty, slightly spices, but finger Licking good. Staff were polite, very quick on service and food was served hot.

Staff were very helpful and attentive. The menu caters for all tastes. An enjoyable evening which I am sure we will repeat as we all enjoyed the food and the experience.

We enjoyed coming to imperial.. The food is awesome slightly spicy but eveey one has diffeeent taste.. The staff are friendly.. Have the prawns as they are mouth watering..

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the food is excellent. Service was good - you were allowed to take your time. The cocktails could have been better.

The place has a good atmosphere and the general ambiance is pleasant. The food I found is good tasty and well presented. The place when busy can be a bit noisy but other times it is fine. Overall a pleasant and memorable experience. Intent to visit again.

It was incredibly noisy and we have had to shout to each other across the table. Indian food is quite good but rather noisy environment.

Excellent food and service. Lovely welcome. Parking easy. Wide variety in menus though wine list could offer more reasonably priced choice. A new must go to addition to Croydon'slimited choice.

Lamb chops which they call house speciality were mildly warm. V poorly done. Would say have had much better chops in commercial St. Chilli chicken was good. Veg platter was v average for the price. No freshly squeeze juice available. Overall with a little.more effort the food can be made really good.

The best restaurant in South London so far. Great ambience, very authentic food, excellent professional service by staff, convenient location and parking facilities, very impressedh. Will definitely return soon.

A nice venue but understaffed for the people there so waiting for a long time. Food really not that great and was expecting much better, or maybe we ordered the wrong things. I wouldn't go again other than if it was a mutually convenient place to meet friends. Staff there were very nice but unfortunate tha they seemed to be struggling to cater for the crowd.

This is a new restaurant that has opened with fantastic ambience and decor, a great feel to the decor and good tasty food. I have been here a few times as a result, however, i have noticed a significant decrease in the level of service given. The previous visit, was me and 3 friends. We had all ordered our drinks at the same time, however, three drinks were delivered to the table. After 10 minutes i had flagged the waiter twice and then was i given my drink. Twenty minutes after this, another waiter came to the table to actually give me the missing drink, therefore, had i had waited, i would have been waiting 30 minutes after the first round of drinks were served to the table for mine. Secondly, the starters were brought to our table and we were missing one. Again i flagged the waiter twice, and only then did he realise a starter was missing and brought it to the table. By this time, we had all finished out starters and one guest was made to eat her's on her own. They seem to be over capacity and not many staff who know what they are doing or have the ability to cope with the turnaround, and this makes it not so good dining. The drinks should be delivered to the table at the same time as should the food, not in pieces. If this level of service continues, then i would have to look for alternatives unfortunately. It is a shame as Imperial has a lot of potential.

Awesome food, great atmosphere. Attentive service as always. Definitely my favourite restaurant at the moment. The cocktails are delicious and inventive. The food is not your standard Indian restaurant, the flavours are beautiful and presentation impeccable.

Did not confirm by reservation. In fact did not have it at all. Service is SLOW. Expect to wait up to an hour between courses!

Great experience and service. Will recommend to friends and family. Food was great too! The bar and music was great. Waiters were very helpful and was a great environment for a meal.

1- Great food 2-Great Atmosphere However I do feel that the system lacks some great service. for Example the ordering of food and Drink we waited 30 mins for someone to come over to ask for our order. in the end we ended up asking to order drinks and the starters. however once we ordered it. the food came within a reasonable time.

Great food, portion sizes big so we took leftovers home with us. It's prices but quality very good, service was a bit random, some very good staff and some not so good, but overall a lovely experience
