Bringing a bit of pizzaz to Indian dining in Glasgow, Indian Platform Southside is a curry house with a luxurious touch. Located on Ayr Road over in Newton Mearns, this family friendly Indian restaurant boasts some seriously stylish decor as well as a spacious outdoor garden area. With regular karaoke nights taking place, a trip to Indian Platform Southside is the perfect location for a special occasion – book in advance to score one of the best seats.
Food was very good and service OK .But it is difficult to see how the owners can keep the place going. We visited on a Saturday night around 7pm and apart from another two people and a child with them we were the only other people in the restaurant, in what is quite a large restaurant and bar.I would suggest that the owners need to up their advertising and clean up the outside area where the grass could do with a good cut
We had the buffet and there was a good selection of curries and desserts. We were given a platter of mixed pakora which oddly has a pile of chips on it too. Pakora and curries were good then there was a small selection of desserts which were ok but still a bit frozen. It was quiet for a Saturday night and I think it has gone downhill a bit since it opened.
Had a great time, food excellent and staff very attentive but not overly so, lovely decor in the restaurant, nice atmosphere warm and friendly, would recommend
With green lights illuminating the building’s facade, Indian Platform Southside is as sleek and modern from the outside as it is inside. Sit inside the stylish dining room or take advantage of the sprawling garden area on a sunny day and dine outdoors.
Serving up all of the familiar favourites as well as some special dishes, at Indian Platform Southside you could begin your meal with some chilli garlic scallops, haggis pakora or Punjabi chilli paneer before moving on to a house special like the monkfish tawa masala or a time-honoured classic like the Ceylonese korma or a spicy jalfrezi.
