Adorned in colorful and ornate decor, this is an Indian restaurant with some serious flair. A long time favourite of many of Cheltenham’s curry lovers, Montpellier’s Indus Tandoori have been serving the town with delectable Indian dishes for over twenty years, and when you try the cuisine on offer here you’ll understand why the crowds keep coming back for more! With a mixture of traditional dishes, tandoori specialities and fusion cuisine, Indus Tandoori’s menu is extensive and varied.
Those looking to spice things up a bit should go for the tikka jalfrezi (tender piece of chicken and lamb in a fiery sauce with onions, tomatoes and fresh green chilli) but if you are after something a bit tamer the paneer tikka bahar (baked chicken cooked with almonds, cream and Indian cheese) is a delicious option. The tandoori dishes are also worth trying, we recommend the tandoori chicken (half a spring chicken marinated with spices and yoghurt). For authentic Indian cuisine in Cheltenham head to this beloved curry house on Montpellier’s Bath Road.
An excellent meal in a fantastic ambient atmosphere. Can't wait to go again and try another of the Indus specials, thought the keema ride was amazing.
We love Indus for the decor and the friendly staff. The food is very good too. We will go back soon and try some other dishes from their menu.
Always a nice curry, thanks. There are a lot of tables squeezed into the place, and it can get a bit claustrophobic when busy, but is comfortable in quieter hours. I keep going back with friends and with family, and have never regretted a visit.
Great food, warm friendly service. I would highly recommend Indus if you are looking for a top notch curry experience. I have been going now for several years after the racing and I have never been disappointed
We are fortunate enough to have Indus as our nearest Asian food restaurant. From its wonderfully colourful, eccentric decor to its welcoming staff you know you are going to have a great experience even before you get the food. Meals are reasonably priced, good quantities and very tasty. There is a wide range to choose from everything I have eaten there has been delicious. The atmosphere is jolly and at weekends it can get very full...book ahead.
Enjoyed a lovely meal at Indus last Saturday. Food & service were really good in a friendly atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who likes authentic Indian food
As always an excellent meal at Indus. Food was fantastic and top service. Not had a bad meal there yet. Will definitely be going back soon.
Great food and venue. And service! Would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly. Food was delicious, for my Mum's birthday and she was chuffed with it. I'm back again tonight with a different crowd and looking forward to it!
Cheery welcome, good menu range, lively ambience, good service and value for money. Beers and wines to match our diners' tastes. All round good performance for a dinner in Festival Week. Will return again .
As always excellent.Food brilliant, service brilliant,a wonderful restaurant, deserves real credit. The manager makes you feel so comfortable and ensures everything is to your liking !waiters very efficient. ,
Convivial atmosphere, prompt and attentive service. The food was fresh, nicely presented and well cooked. Booking online was sensible as the restaurant was busy. Fair price too CEK
The restaurant was very crowded and tables are too close. Food was ok, staff ok but not much interaction and when I tried to present them with a voucher they did there upmost to try and not accept it.
Unfortunately the restaurant appeared to be struggling with staffing issues. There was poor service, very long waits to order and receive food and a less than happy atmosphere. A shame, not my expectation as previously have enjoyed this place. But food was good, poppadums excellent - non greasy & crisp.
