The dining room at Isha’s is a deceptively labyrinthian affair, currently two and soon to be three rooms spread across these Stourbridge Road premises, and in each room the aroma of freshly prepared curry wafts through. The kitchen prides itself on honouring traditional recipes, which means that their Kashmiri curries are as authentic as you’ll find anywhere. For diners in Lye, Isha’s has a reputation as one of the Birmingham region's best bets for Indian-style curry, great service and a happily affordable bring-your-own wine culture.

For a restaurant to survive thirty-odd years in the business is a feat indeed. At Isha’s the restaurant hasn’t simply survived, it has thrived, with expansion plans for the main dining room to help seat yet more fans of the Stourbridge Road’s classic Kashmiri dishes. Of course, sometimes Isha’s fans across Lye simply can’t get a table, and while that’s a kind of everyday tragedy that we must all learn to live with, Isha’s is pleased to deliver to any Lye residents lucky enough to live in a three mile radius. For those that are in the market for the full Isha experience however, the only way to guarantee excellent Indian food is to book a table a couple of days in advance, especially over the weekend.
