Southeast Asian cuisine is a favourite among the foodies of Cardiff, and at Jalan Malaysia you can experience it for yourself. With its traditional decor and home-style dishes, this cosy little restaurant on Woodville Road provides diners with an authentic taste of Malaysia. Begin your meal with some spiced fish cakes, chicken & vegetable dumplings or chicken wings, before moving on to a Malaysian staple like the national dish of Malaysia, coconut-infused rice served with a half-boiled egg, crunchy dried anchovies, roasted peanuts, sweet chilli sambal and your choice of turmeric fried chicken, beef or chicken rendang or king prawn okra sambal. For a Malaysian foodie adventure, head on over to Jalan Malaysia in Cathays. Book ahead to snag one of the best tables!
The food was very authentic but more attention to cleanining the ikan bilis would be appreciated. The service though very polite was painfully slow. We waited 20 minutes to be seved and then a further 50 minutes for the food to arrive. If you enjoy Malaysian food it is well worth a visit.
Really, really good food and great service. will definitely be going again. was a bit unsure about the plastic cups and cardboard tray for starters (proper plate for mains) though.......but that didn't matter really!
