Great food and really friendly staff! Staff are more than happy to help you with recommendations (which is quite handy as we'd never eaten Filipino).
Was very good. The food and the service was excellent. I will recommend this place for sure. I will be back definitely with friends, family,...
Lovely restaurant with wonderful Service and high quality food . I love it ! I'll be back again soon bringing family and friends! Definitely recommend this Filipino restaurant here!
It doesn't get better ! Great friendly service started with a warm welcome soon followed by a refreshing cold Red Horse beer. Really great selection of Filipino Cuisine. Can recommend the Adobong Baboy it was tasty and tender. The Lechon Kawali was perfect tender succulent and beautifully crispy. My girlfriend had the Special Pancet and loved it. This restaurant comes highly recommended from us. Thanks to all the staff at Josephine's
I first found Josephine's Restaurant last year when I was in London for work. I'm half Filipino and miss good food like my lola would make. So craving that deliciousness, I found Josephine's and was not disappointed. Best Filipino food I've had outside the islands. So this time I found myself with the ability to take an overnight layover in London on the way home from Malta and did not hesitate. I arranged an overnight in London specifically so I could eat dinner at Josephine's, and again, I was not disappointed. Their Adobo is heavenly. The lumpia is fresh and crunchy, just like lola's. The leche flan was sweet and because I couldn't decide, I got a piece of Cassava for take-away that I enjoyed once I got back to my hotel. Their food is completely authentic, well prepared and presented and absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that the non-Filipino wait staff seemed overwhelmed or confused at times. I even had to show two of them how to use the credit card machine for a non-chip-and-pin card (Sadly, most American cards still don't use Chip and Pin). But other than that hiccough, once again I had a great experience and you can be sure that the next time I'm in London, Josephine's will be serving me dinner again.
Excellent food and great family run business since 1975 : Filipino food deserves a much wider recognition. I am now married to wonderful woman from just south of where the owner comes from near Baggio, so the standards had to be high, as my wife is an excellent cook. We were not disappointed as the food selection covers just about every specialty and don't forget to end the traditional way with a shared tall glass of Halo Halo. If you are Vegan or a carnivore you are in for a treat : so leave some space for some of the very best eating in the West End and surely at some of the most affordable rates in the whole of the media belt this cute little restaurant sits in.
We celebrated our grandmother's 79th Birthday at this restaurant on 23rd April and customer service was EXCELLENT! The staff were friendly, patient and always willing to help! Food was DELICIOUS and Josephine was always present to make sure that the food was up to the highest standard. It was a big meal well presented and with complimentary dessert for my Grandma's. OVERALL we were very happy and glad that we picked this restaurant to celebrate the special occasion. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Overall food was average but service was poor. Waited over 15mins everytime someone from our group ordered a coffee. The waitresses didnt even know what food they were bringing out. Expecting people to know by the look of the food. When I myself have never had Philippino food before So didnt have a clue. They are very popular and were filled to capacity so maybe it was just an off day when we went. But staff kept telling us they didnt have enough glasses and whem we asked for more milk for the coffees we were asked....is that not enough. It was a small cup of milk for two coffees and a dark hot chocolate. We also had soup poured over 2 of us and we even helped to clean it up. But the soup wasnt reserved. We were just given that bowl. If it wasnt for the people we were with it wouldnt have been an enjoyable night.
The restaurant served good food and the service was superb. If you would like to try classic Filipino food, this is definitely a place to visit. The restaurant is not hard to find and is in a very good location. Though it needs a bit of refurbishment with the toilet and decor, but nonetheless the very honest and accommodating waiters made our visit worth it and would definitely come back with family and friends.
The food is good and the staff is friendly, accommodating, and service orientated. The only concern I have is that the food takes a while to be served. The food came up to be pricey as well for a single person for a drink and a 3 course meal. For this matter, there should be a set menu for a single person. On the contrary, I was allowed to take home my leftover food but the thing is I did not want to carry cooked food Round when I go shopping. I suggest that there should be a menu for a one dish meal to make it more affordable.
A lovely meal and very pleasant staff - and a free short guide to holidaying in the Phillipines as an extra (while stocks last I suspect). If there are two of you, go for their set menu which is excellent value. Even for one with drinks, I paid less than £25, including service charge. So good value too for Central London.
Overall customer service at a fairly high standard, main dishes came at a suitable rate and the food was of a good standard however the dessert we ordered (Cassava CAke) came with mould all over it. Upon telling the waiter he acknowledged it but did not apologise and offered a free dessert. Bemused that he did not apologise we assumed that he would apologise as we left but alas he did not. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to this experience.
Lovely food, good service. It was very busy, all tables taken and it was clear that this is a local favourite. The meal was not expensive, standard London prices and a good range on the menu. I had tilapia in coconut sauce, pork belly and it was delicious. I would avoid the chicken adobo, really didn't do the dish justice which is odd as it's a popular choice for non-Filipinos! I will definitely be coming back. Many thanks.
Authentic Filipino dish! It takes me back to the Philippines even though I am thousand miles away. The food was superb! You can ask them their best sellers and it will surely satisfy your cravings. The staff are very nice and accommodating. I will definitely go back to this restaurant!
My friends and I had an awesome dining experience in Josephine's Restaurant. Service and food was good. The dishes that were served made me miss being in the Philippines. :)
Easy to find restaurant, five minute walk from Tottenham court road tube station. Staff very welcoming on arrival. Food is as good as you get in the Philippines, very tasty indeed. Both my Filipino wife and I (English) would highly recommend Josephine's, and we will defiantly visit again.
We found the venue small. We were given a very small table, which could barely support our order. The staff, however, were very helpful and friendly but since it was crowded, the two waiting staff were late in delivering our desert order. The food was well cooked and tasty, although, it wasn't comparable to the native cuisine of the Philippines - I'd say, it was a good effort. Regarding the cost of the meal, average to high, which is acceptable in today's climate of high costs. On the hold, it was an enjoyable evening.
Very pleasant evening. Waiter was really nice and helpful. Food was tasty - we went with his recommendations.Restaurant was empty when we first went in so a little worrying but soon filled up and was what we hoped. Would be happy to revisit
Well worth the visit you'll be surprised! 👍😀 the staff and owner will do all they can do to make your visit just wonderful ! Food & all a relaxed pleasure
Fantastic food and service! Will definitely go again! Good range of Philippine food and fantastic location! Would definitely recommend to family and friends! One of the best Pinoy restaurants in London!
Excellent meal, with great company. I'm married to a Filipino and neither of us knew Josaphines existed. We will definitely be returning again. Truly authentic food, give it a try!
Very nice food, reasonable prices, attentive staff. I would definitely recommend to other people, particularly if they hadn't tried Filipino cuisine before. The Guinataan Isda (Fish in Coconut sauce) was especially tasty, as was the Kare-kareng.
Average Filipino food not that brilliant. The presentation/ambiance is great but the basement area is alright. It's not that busy so I guess you can just walk in. A bit far from central London so make sure you plan your journey ahead of time.
The quality of the food was good, although some of the dishes were not authentic (e.g., the adobo). Service was very friendly. It is by far the most decent Filipino restaurant I've tried in London.
Authentic Filipino cuisine from a very friendly staff. The restaurant is in a great location. The portions are very generous. Similar but distinctly different from Thai or other regional food. Definitely worth a try.
Really friendly staff, great food, my other half is from Manilla so the standard expected was set high! Overall great value for money. Already planning our next visit
We had a great waiter who wanted us to understand what was on the menu before ordering, excellent service, good wine and fantastic food. I highly recommend it.
My second time eating at this restaurant and I was delighted! Delicious filipino food and a good price! Nice decor and atmosphere. Definitely willl come back again.
Love it here. Love it here. Reminds me of my mom's home cooking and the staff is very nice and personable. I recommend to eat here. Bill
A small compact restaurant with a good range of filipino dishes. Food quality was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended to experience filipino food for the first time.
Staff was really nice and hospitable but restaurant felt undermanned. Perhaps have more waiters during peak hours. Also it was a little bit too hot where we were sitting. Good food all in all but rice was a bit dry.
Second time here and I'm growing to love this place! Tasty food & lovely, friendly service. Amongst the increasingly generic looking restaurants on Charlotte St, Josephines feels like an authentic neighbourhood restaurant.
I was treated to a birthday lunch at Josephine's, where we had delicious food served by excellent staff in a very pleasant environment. Will certainly return!
Very good food (one of my reasons for returning here) and a nice outdoor table. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Only complaint: the presentation of the cappuccinos could have been improved.
Very good food and exceptional service! Love it! We enjoyed our lunch and will definitely come back. Thank you Josephine's! Keep up the good work.
lovely food and people.i will definetly coming back aagain .highly recommended .the food served on right temperature, desert is so nice and delicious. the staff are pleasant and professional.
Very nice staff but ordering took very long (I felt we had been forgotten about!) and the same for food being served. There were quite a few people from the Philippines dining which, when you are just discovering a new cuisine as we were, is a good sign.
It was a very special experience. The staff were attentive and the owner was passionate about the restaurant. The food was authentic and delicious. We enjoyed the evening.
Excellent pork belly (best crispy skin I have ever tried in a pork belly), interesting beers and great service. Nice plates for sharing. I will come back
good and friendly service and nice food would probably return so would recommend to friends and family nice and friendly staff and very helpful and smiling
Food was not too bad though a little salty. Adobo chicken was okay but definitely not the best i've had. Might consider going again to try other dishes!
Great food and there were many options. Service was not that good unfortunately, number of staff couldn't cope up with the customers. I am hesitant to go back.
Very average .... I was expecting more Filipino atmosphere ... Drinks are quite expensive and Red Horse is only in small bottles . Philippines is so happy country but the atmosphere here is a bit sad ..
Not as authentic as I hoped food wasn't the best the fish tasted frozen the noodles tasted like they had been made from a packet of dried noodles the drinks were warm although the staff were helpful they could not speak a word tagalog and last I found it to be rather expensive.
Epic food! Would definitely recommend. Service is very good and the portion sizes are huge. Winner!
Authentic Filipino dish.... The staff are polite and the structure of the place is truly like in the Philippines
Excellent food and fantastic service, I couldn't fault it. Can't wait to go back!
Very friendly and helpful staff but unfortunately the food did not come up to our expectations and the wine offerings at the lower price end were appalling.
Travelled for 2hrs just to be disappointed with the service. Waited for one of orders to be served until we have finished all the food. That order is what I was craving for but sad to say it seemed like they forgot it until I reminded them twice. The food is an average. They have modified the traditional Filipino cuisine which I don't fancy. As an OFW I want to eat something which will remind me of home.
Lovely food and friendly service. It was our 2nd visit and we'll definitely go again.
