Kings Country Bar and Restaurant

The food and service was as good as ever. However the friendly banter between staff and the regulars were very loud and made it difficult for us to hear each other talk. It all added to the friendly environment but anyone with hearing issues would struggle.

We've been eating here since it opened and have always enjoyed the food and ambience of Kings. They've recently introduced a steak deal on Thursday nights. 2 x steaks and a drink each for £30. Not your usual tiny cut of steak either, this is a generous 10 0z sirloin, served with fries, onion rings, mushroom and tomato. Both of our steaks were beautifully tender and cooked to our liking. My wife doesn't drink, so I enjoyed 2 pints of London Pride with it! Jose and his staff are very attentive and friendly which is why we're regulars. Definitely coming back for another steak night deal that's for sure!

Hard to find (no lighting), noone acknowledged us when we arrived, food incorrect and came out at different times, onions rings came back cold, run out of big chips, struggled to get out when leaving due to crowd of staff in the way. No apologies given. Would not return

This was my first visit to Kings for a long time. It was a most enjoyable evening, the staff were very polite and helpful and the food was lovely, highly recommend.

Lovely restaurant. Excellent food and friendly staff.We enjoyed watching the horses outside and sitting by a real log fire! Reasinably pricedcso good value for money.

Valentines night dinner - fabulous food and a cheesecake to die for. Restaurant was a little cold though which took the edge off the experience.

Really lovely food and very friendly staff! It has a homely feel with a lovely open fire! You wouldn't even realise its on a riding school accept the fact you can look out the window and watch which is nice! Will defiantly be back :)

Lovely lunch at Kings today with 6 friends and as usual the food was delicious, service and staff very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant everytime

Food was excellent as was the service but we feel we should have been warned a very large party was going to be occupying most of the restaurant, as it turned out to be very noisy.

Not one of there better meals steak and pork belly not as good as before very disappointed . but we will try a Sunday lunch next time hopefully that will be better

Good company but the food was not to a great standard. My friend had the curry which was just like fried chicken with a sauce over it and my steak was a bit fatty and fairly tasteless.

Fab food & excellent service. Alex was so helpful and informative...lovely fella ! 3 of us on a girls spa weekend, never been before but would definetely go again and recommend.

Such tasty food. was lucky enough to be there when SEA BASS was on the menu, which was heavenly, and the beer batter on the haddock I had a taste of from my sons plate was delicious too. the staff are so friendly and attentive. thank you

This restaurant is a surprise. Based at an equestrian centre it’s rather hidden away. The roaring fire in the corner fireplace lent a welcoming ambiance to the country style restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and as good as it looked. The waiter was helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back again.

Lovely food and great reasonable price. Wanted to stay nearer to home and living in botley/Bishops Waltham and wickham area everything is quite expensive but this was middle ground but with great tasting home made food. Only think is it’s a little difficult to find in the dark and you wait a little bit more for your food :) apart from that it’s great

Friendly service with good food. Drinks a little slow which was disappointing. Our table was a little too small but very pleased with the overall eaxperience

Its in a lovely setting, we had very good service and our meals were tasty, well done to the staff at Kings as they were really busy.

Fantastic food which is all home cooked. Really enjoyed the experience. The service is second to none. Would recommend to all and looking forward to another visit.

The staff are very welcoming & friendly - could not fault. Food disappointing. Onion rings as a starter to share with Mum were greasy. Mum's fish/veg OK & my lasagne fine. More basic pub grub than restaurant material. Great to look at the horses :-)

As always good was fabulous and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Had family visiting from Scotland and they thoroughly enjoyed the meal and setting.

We took visitors and they were delighted with the meal and the venue a do time was h by all. Thanks Kings we will visit again

The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Horses walking past the window add a slightly quirky touch! The food never disappoints, whether it's a quick lunch or a leisurely evening meal.

On the whole my guests were happy. One however was very disappointed with his lemon chicken casserole which he described as soup with a few bits in. Had he not ordered potatoes and had someone else's peas he would have felt starved. Not value for money on this dish. Service was very good and all staff were pleasant.

The food was delicious and was freshly cooked! Great menu to choose from both drinks and food alike. I thought the restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was fantastic.

Excellent service with tasty meal in nice quiet location, was a little quiet in restaurant for a Saturday night though and probably atmosphere would be a little better if tables full.

Always good service and good food. However your website offered the chance to leave a message for the restaurant, which was a special order for a special occasion, but you never passed it on!! What's the point of that?!?!

A very nice evening the food was very good and our waiter Carlos was great fun and very professional, the only down side we all found was that the bar and dinning area was all in one area and this made it rather noisy with load talk and laughter, giving the place a feeling of a canteen rather than a restaurant, have said all that it was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening

Would I go again ABSOLUTELY! Most unusual setting, on one side horses training in an indoor arena, on the other side horses training in an outdoor arena, behind a long bar and open kitchen and ahead of us fantastic views of the countryside. Service so friendly and efficient (Carlos was our waiter and made us feel special), food wonderful and most importantly clean toilets. What more could you want.

Really good atmosphere and lovely food. Good quality food but at a decent price. Really nice to see the horses wandering by at the same time if you're lucky

Lovely venue, the owner (I think he was the owner) was great fun and made everybody feel special. Will certainly visit again. A must for horse lovers.

Excellent service and 2 of the meals were great but chicken in curry was a bit chewy which spoilt what would have been an excellent meal ,couldn't fault the staff they were all very pleasant and efficient .....

Lovely place, had driven past there "kings" sign for ages, but very pleasantly surprised at this restaurant Food was lovely( although mine was burnt round the edges )saying this I would go back,

Very nice atmosphere, very clean and tidy, very good service, very nice meal with a large selection to chose from and very reasonable prices. What more could you want.
