London isn’t short of good Japanese restaurants, but Kitcho in Greenwich is one of the coolest and most delicious spots you’ll come across. At this calming, warm restaurant on Greenwich High Road you’ll find authentic Japanese favourites done absolutely right and with plenty of love and care. From shabu-shabu and sushi, through to exquisite and fresh seafood, Kitcho is a unique Japanese dining experience that nobody in this part of London can afford to miss. Reserve a table now.
As the team at Kitcho will ask you, is there anything better than a steaming hot bowl shabu-shabu? Much of the time, we think not, particularly when there’s then a whole Japanese menu to get involved with before or after. Speaking of which, diners of Greenwich have lots to be excited about in terms Kitcho’s menu as it truly offers quality as well as quantity. There are all the delicacies we mentioned above as well as irresistible tempura, teppanyaki, and donburi bowls, then classic Japanese curries and fried rice or noodle dishes – chicken katsu curry anyone?
As well as an exceptional menu, Kitcho has plenty more going for it in terms of the restaurant space itself, which is decorated stylishly to present a very calm and relaxing place to eat and drink. On top of that, its location in Greenwich is pretty hard to beat. You’ll find Kitcho on Greenwich High Road, about equidistant between Greenwich and Deptford train stations and not far at all from the Royal Observatory Greenwich. For a memorable and authentic Japanese meal in the most pleasant of ambiences, this restaurant is your best bet.
Lovely Japanese food. Sashimi was divine and gorgeous wasabi prawns. Staff very helpful and attentive. Will eat here again if we are in the area.
This is my 2nd time dining here. Both times the sushi has been fantastic, the hot food mediocre. Service was good. Staff were very friendly and very informative about the dishes. There were 4 of us dining and the bill was £35 per head with alcohol for several starters, sushi, (we had the dragon maki and tornado which were 2 of the most expensive on menu) sashimi and a couple of hot dishes so was pretty good value.
Excellent as always! Make sure to try the Wasabi prawns, I could eat just those!
Excellent quality food ! Would definitely recommend ! Book in advance, as over the weekend it gets very crowded. Would like to come again in the very near future.
I've been twice now to Kitcho and I love the food but it is too expensive so I can't go as often as I would like. It's just up the road from Greenwich Picturehouse and the only good restaurant in Greenwich, which is full of tourist traps serving poor quality food. The Kitcho menu has lovely starters - e.g. wasabi prawns - delicious perfectly cooked prawns in light batter with wasabi mayo. Mains are also lovely, hot and filling. But the stars of the show are the fabulous sushi and sashimi, prepared by Japanese sushi chefs. Really very good. It has a nice atmosphere but they need to do up the loos to match the high price tag.
The food at Kitcho is absolutely fabulous. Since the move from the centre of Greenwich, they're a little bit further down the road in Greenwich High Road but it's well worth the effort making your way there. Magnificent choice of Japanese dishes with helpful staff on hand to advise what is what! If you're a fan of good Japanese food then a visit to Kitcho is a must!
Beautiful restaurant, authentic Japanese sushi, tempura, udon and soba noodles. Waiters were friendly and provided a good service. However, we had to send the tempura back because they served it with the sushi first (as a starter), and not with the noodles like they would in Japan. They had also ran out of mochi ice cream which was a little disappointing. Apart from that everything else was great. I'd highly recommend Kitcho and would visit again.
The food there was delicious and at a reasonable price. The service was also good. I think Kitcho would benefit more if they had pictures on their menu for people who do not usually eat Japanese food and have bento boxes.
Nice hidden gem located within walking distance of Deptford and Greenwich train station. Food was good fare. The highlight being the Stir fried beef in spicy sauce which was literally melt in the mouth soft. The Sparkling Sake goes down very well although I suspect it contains ALOT of sugar. The service was a tad slow but the staff were friendly and the bill was very competitive for japanese cuisine. I'd go back.
Fantastic food and great service, as ever. Kitcho sashimi was delicious and the ebi tempura was just right. Friendly service and they even served up cake and ice cream for my son's birthday. Great night.
