About Kyoto Kitchen

Kyoto Kitchen is Winchester’s specialist Japanese restaurant. It’s an extremely elegant, contemporary dining space on Parchment Street that offers Japanese cuisine at its absolute best. The focus of the a la carte menu is sushi and sashimi but you will also find tempura, nigiri and a fine selection of Kyoto Kitchen special rolls to choose from. Japanese dining differs from Western-style dining in the sense that starters, mains and desserts aren’t commonplace. Instead, think tapas-style dining that allows you to try lots and that lends itself perfectly to sharing. Kyoto Kitchen Winchester is one of the most popular restaurants in town because it gets the combination of quality food, personalised service and a gorgeous dining space absolutely right. Advanced reservations are essential.

Just Superb, the food and level of service and attention to detail is with out question the best Japanese restaurant in Winchester, not cheap but worth every penny, even the Japanese Malt...

I took my son there for his birthday. We asked for advice on what to eat and were guided by the chef. The starters of scallops with pickled plumb and carpaccio of duck with leek were equally and differently delicious. My favourite was probably the tempura sea bass in seaweed batter: exceptional. The nigiri was everything nigiri should be. The surprise of the evening was the Winchester roll, which came with fresh wasabi grated on a shark flesh board. It's the best japanese food I've eaten in the UK.

Excellent evening at Kyoto kitchen, both the food and the atmosphere were delightful. We went for the fixed price menu and were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend.
