Latin American and Spanish food has always been a long-term favourite of diners up and down the length of Great Britain. We’ve almost all had the ritual week in Marbella, Magaluf, or somewhere further afield and once we took our tastes a bit further than Yorkshire puddings and gravy, then some of us even managed to sample some of the local grub. Sheffield is a long way from this part of the world, of course, but on the Costa Del Don, one can find a taste of tapas that’s as good as any found in local Latin American joint or Iberia at La Mama in Sheffield, Nether Edge on Abbeydale Road. That means croquetas, patatas bravas and Spanish omelettes for veggies, calamari, fried whitebait and baby squid for seafood fans and chorizo, marinated lamb and albondigas for meat lovers. Take a trip to Nether Edge for one of the top tapas bars in Sheffield – do book a table ahead of time, though, as they get get crowded from time to time.
My girlfriend and I both had a fabulous time. The food was terrific, as was the atmosphere. The table service was really good. We’ll definitely be going back for some more tapas!!
My favourite little gem in Sheffield, good food , great atmosphere and lovely staff. Would strongly recommend the empanadas and a pisco sour cocktail 😁
Booking online was easy. Nice atmosphere in the resturant. The food was fantastic with an easy to understand menu and the service was friendly and quick. Would highly recommend to friends.
