Tasty food, good ambience and staff was friendly and good aswell.
Excellent food - tasty, aromatic, well spiced and not overpowering. Additionally, catered for specific request set menu options on account of dietary restrictions. A must visit place.
Excellent indian gastronomy, beautiful and romantic place. A must see in London. Service is well executed by kind and gentle people. Prices are very high but quality to cost ratio is good.
Lovely friendly service, tasty food, beautiful surroundings and overall great value for a central London restaurant. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who wants something traditional with a pleasant surprise of a twist!
Tables too close together meaning waiting staff are knocking the back of your chair Unruly children treating the place like a creche. This is not a cheap restaurant and although the food is good, the whole experience is spoiled by the poor ambience
Excellent food, excellent service. Indian cuisine with a French note, and this in the UK... I had the foi gras and giant shrimps in a coconut sauce. Remarkable!
We had always loved this restaurant and are sad to grade it so low. It really feels rather dated now, needing some talc. Though clean, the decor looks a tad warm, toilets are desperately in need of an overhaul and the pricing, quite frankly astronomical - at least double anywhere else we visit. The food, however was good and beautifully presented but not so phenomenal that it warranted being twice the anticipated price. Disappointed to have note felt it could be scored higher!
Fun decor (plastic palm trees and mirrors), service a bit slow and food was pretty average. For the price I would prefer the Cinnamon Club.
It's a beautiful place but 0 service. Average food. Expensive prices Looks like old beauty living on her past We never came back again in this place
Great food. Great service. The Sunday Buffet is perfect to get a taste of lots of things. My only criticism would be that the music is too loud. Thank you.
Fantastic restaurant!! Amazing food and service. Such a wonderful setting, excellent choice of drinks, wines and the food was superb. We tried a variety of dishes and each time the staff took time to explain each dish to us. We will certainly go again!
It is a fantastic environment and wonderfully tasty good food and friendly service. Trying to go to the dinning area every time we visit London.
Made to feel extremely welcome. Staff very attentive and the food delicious. We always go to La Porte for a special celebration and have never been disappointed.
Excellent in every respect: service, food and ambience. My wife and i enjoyed a very relaxed evening in welcoming and elegant surroundings. The dishes were creative and special, so far as I know, not to be found elsewhere in London. The service was attentive and efficient. My only fault lies with the drinks. My wife had an apple martini, which was below par; and my glass of white wine was fairy bland. However we did not choose the restaurant for the alcohol, so were not put off. Altogether a delightful experience. John Fenner.
Lovely restaurant with attentive friendly high class staff. Great food and cocktails, when celerating my brother's 55th - just as the previous 5 visits. We'd recommend the Thali Plates the "Tapas" of the Place. Highly recommended also for families with well ehaved Children, there is a tiger to be found here and the restaurant in itself is very well suited.
Lovely restaurant, very sumptuous surroundings, fabulous food and very attentive service. The price was worth paying for such a great experience. Would definitely visit again
Excellent food from an exciting menu. Head waiter gave sound advice for my party of 5 including international guests. The venue is pleasant and the dining experience relaxed. Thankyou.
Be sure to question what will be served and the cost, if staff recommending the dishes. One of the starters served was crocodile for 3 pieces charged at £19, the other was guinea fowl at £17 again for 3 pieces... The mains we chose ourselves which we were very happy with. Setting and service very good.
Excellent food and amazing setting! Really enjoyed it. We got the sampling menu which was fantastic and gave us a little taste of everything. Staff were very attentive and polite
A long waiting before being served, despite our reservation; a very unpolite waiter; the room was very cold; food absolutely ordinary - to be kind- and very high prices. A dinner to forget, never more
Food unexceptional and represented poor value. With a private party downstairs blasting out disco music, premises returning to their previous use as a nightclub. We will not be returning.
Visited previously and felt was excellent and value for money but found has now become very expensive and food not up to standard .A chicken choice was bland and tasteless even though was shown on the menus as spicy(2 chillies)
The food was awesome and the service was excellent and we had a great time like always. That'swhat makes us keep coming back to Porte des Indes
I went there with my family for lunch on Thursday to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was wonderful. Great food, good service and a beautiful venue. Tasty non-alcoholic cocktails enjoyed by all of us! I used to come here with my grandmother when she was alive and as long as it is open I will bring many others here.
Petit air of India in London City. Nice place, delicious meals and very sympathic. A kind of journey to Pondichery staying in London. We had a very good moment.
It's become part of a large group. Lost all charm and do not cook the different courses individually. Used to be exellent, now it is just commercial and easiest way out.
Extremely overpriced cold plates, tepid warm food and novice waiters, if sitting upstairs you have to go all the way downstairs to the toilet, there was also a toilet seat hanging off, and at around £100.00 per head I don't expect any of this.
Very, very disappointing. We went 15 years ago and the service and food were outstanding--this time, not so much. The service was uninviting and the whole time we felt we were not welcome. I paid £14 for a cocktail that had no flavor and no apparent alcohol and We each had to pay a separate £4 for plain, basmati rice. My entree of monkfish was poorly cooked and when I told the waiter, he promised to pass it on to management - never did. For the prices they charge, you should get a memorable dining experience. Ours was memorable but not the way we expected. I will never go back.
Great Sunday buffet, with the best Indian food outside of India. Beware of the service charge for a buffet? Refused to pay it and that was not a problem.
Great food and great atmosphere. We loved the variety and the taste. We were 8 people although the restaurant was full but the service and staff did a wonderful job. A wonderful experience and a memory to cherich when you are in london. Thank you.
very good food and good service. and very nice place.
The location and atmosphere are nice. The indian food was excellent but expensive. We have been there for the 3rd time and the quality of the food is constantly good. The staff is professional and friendly.
The food was really good and the staff were brilliant considering the restaurant was really busy on New Year's Eve.
here You feel directly that is india, good food and nice Service
